Candy Market Place (MP) Background
Candy’s secondary market to resell their NFTs (except for their OpenSea/ETH original ones) opens 1/15/22. Their original packs sold out with an hour months ago, an All-Star pack and an Uncut Diamond prospects pack that cost $50 for 3 NFTs.
If you were whitelisted (joined their Discord/mailing list months and months in advance, ie. early adopters), you could get x10 All-Star packs before it was open to the general public. You could actually be on multiple levels (3) of the whitelist so could get a grand total of 30 packs of the All-Stars!! They changed this maximum amount for the general public to a maximum of x1 pack once they realized the unprecedented demand. A few days later they sold the Uncut Diamonds packs with a limit of 1 per customer. They minted 16,533 All-Star packs (81 players) and 8,307 Uncut Diamond packs (30 prospects). There are 5 rarities with Legendary being a 1/1.
After the pack sale, the chatter on their official Discord (their preferred method of interaction and engagement) went through the roof. Really excited and engaged people who saw the tremendous value in early Candy packs/NFTs. Speculation on the prices for these unopened packs and NFTs were all over the place, but given their small mint sizes, all speculation placed them at a high EV+ (expected value). Anticipation for re-sell starting to build a lot of momentum.
The original MP was set to open near the end of 2021 but was delayed so they could work on the programming and testing of it more. Disappointing but responsible Scouring their Discord multiple times every day, people’s thoughts on pricing of the NFTs and packs are crazy high IMO. Here is one of the most agreed upon thoughts on floor prices…see below for chart.
I personally think this may be too high but the amount of demand seems real and extremely high for the packs/NFTs. Gary V just yesterday did a Live Twitter Spaces video promoting the MP opening and Candy baseball project overall…..hearty endorsement by him.
