The discomfort that comes with an inflamed tastebud is annoying at best, but fear not! There is a solution to this!

You will need:

  • Mouthwash
  • Q-Tips

This is what you have to do:

  1. Pour a splash of mouthwash into the cap of its container or a small cup, or shot glass.
  2. Take one Q-tip and dip one side of it into the mouthwash. You do not have to saturate the whole thing, but make sure you get enough on it so that it is wet.
  3. Place the wet part of the Q-tip that was dipped into the mouthwash directly onto the inflamed tastebud. Hold in place for 30–60 seconds.
  4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 with the other end of the Q-Tip.
  5. Wait for 12–24 hours and your inflamed tastebud will be cured! Try to avoid eating salty and spicy foods during this time period.

Why it works:

Mouthwash is basically an astringent. The antimicrobials (active ingredients) are what kills the germs that trigger or worsen oral diseases. Basically, mouthwash is like alcohol for your mouth! Whatever germs or debris that are caught in the inflamed tastebud will be destroyed by the antimicrobials.

Note: Whatever you do, do not rinse your mouth out after dabbing the mouthwash onto the inflamed tastebud! If you rinse your mouth out with water, you will rinse away the mouthwash and your inflamed tastebud will not heal. You’ll have to go through the process again to see the results.
