Testing Materials and Calling Every Art Store in Toronto…Twice.

My first exploration involved testing paper. I was trying to find a material that was translucent. This idea was inspired by the Shōji screens, that tied into my concept of solitude. I expected that the paper would allow light to pass through, and change the mood of the photographs, making it very important to do tests.

Mylar, seen on the left is more translucent where the middle photo shows vellum. The vellum has a harder time passing light through, and the image colours were dulled, mostly because of the hue the paper. I decided that mylar was the better option.
