North Africa Dreamin’ is Next Saturday, Here’s 14 Sessions to Check Out

North Africa Dreamin’ header image … credit belongs to North Africa Dreamin’.

One week today is North Africa Dreamin’. Happening in Casablanca, North Africa Dreamin’ will see a number of fantastic sessions taking place. I’ll be heading out to Morocco to speak at this great event. I’ll be delivering my session, Supercharge Slack with Flow Actions in Salesforce.

So as I’ve done for every conference event I’ve attended and spoken at this year, with North Africa Dreamin’ being my eight, I wanted to put together a post sharing some of the sessions that I think are worth checking out. This post will include 14 sessions that I feel are worth highlighting. There are a massive number of great sessions to look forward to at this year’s event. However, if I highlighted every single session, one I couldn’t do them justice, and secondly it would be a considerably long post. So with that in mind, I’m going to stick to 14 sessions that I want to highlight in this post.

After that preamble, here are the 14 sessions I want to highlight.

N.B. As a quick reminder, you can read my methodology on how I order these lists in my post entitled, A Peak into My Busy Five Weeks.

Sessions to Highlight

Designing YOUR Salesforce Lifestyle : Pallavi Agarwal

Do you ever think about where you want to go with your Salesforce career? If you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably thought about this topic. Well, in this session Pallavi Agarwal will take us through the concept of how to design our Salesforce lifestyle. In this session you’ll get tips on how to navigate the Salesforce ecosystem and choose the right path for you.

Turn Feedback Into Features, Voice of the Customer Lessons from Salesforce : Scott Allan

You’ve heard of the IdeaExchange right? Well, have you ever wondered how ideas are selected to be added to the product roadmap? In this session, Salesforce’s Scott Allan will be delivering a session that focuses on the concept of turning feedback into features. This session will include some info on how Salesforce selects ideas and adding them to the product roadmap. If you’re interested in this subject, this is a session to check out.

Slack it to Me : Meighan Brodkey

One of my most regular accessed tools is Slack. Over the last number of months I’ve spent a lot of time looking at Salesforce’s native integration with Slack (particularly with Flow, hence why I’m speaking on it at NAD). This session will see Salesforce MVP, Meighan Brodkey speaking about how Slack and Salesforce can harmoniously work together. If you’re new to Slack’s integration with Salesforce, this will be a great session to attend.

Go with the Flow…Uh Ohhh? Handling flow errors (your users will never know) : Sandi Zellner

Would you like to know a bit more about how to respond accordingly to Flow errors as a Salesforce Admin? If you do, then this session is for you. Here, Salesforce MVP, Sandi Zellner will speak about error handling and Flow Testing. In it Sandi will go through how we can handle error messages without sending our users messages that at times will require a rosetta stone to translate (my words not Sandi’s). If you’re an intermediate to advanced Flow Builder who is looking to up their game, then this session is a MUST ATTEND session. For me personally, this session has been at many of the conferences I have spoken at this year, but every time there has been a clash around it in my schedule and I have yet to be able to see it. I will be able to go and check this session out at North Africa Dreamin’ and I’m very much looking forward to being a sponge and digesting as much as I can.

The CTA Mindset : Melissa Shepard

Thinking about the big picture as it relates to Salesforce and the work we do in and around it. This kind of approach to thinking about Salesforce is very much tied to the Architect’s Mindset. At North Africa Dreamin’, Melissa Shepherd will be delivering her session on having an Architect’s mindset. It is being referred to The CTA Mindset at this event, however, I can say from attending this session in the past that you do not need to be a CTA to get some real benefit from it. In this session, Melissa will cover what it takes to become a CTA and it will give you an understanding of the Technical Architect path and what it means to be on the #JourneyToCTA.

Build an App to Report on Custom Sales Goals, Quotas and KPIs : Aaron Crear

One of the core things you will be asked to do as a Salesforce Admin is to report on the companies targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). In this session, Aaron Crear will present a session covering how you can use reporting tools and automation to create a solution to report on custom sales goals, quotas and KPIs. If you’re an Admin who is looking to improve your reporting skills, this session will be a great one to go and check out.

How to Study for the Certifications, SAML as An Example : Mustapha El Hassak and Zakaria Semri

Do you ever get stuck on how to study for a Salesforce certification? If so, this session might be a good one for you to check out. In this session, Mustapha El Hassak and Zakaria Semri will provide you with some tips on how to study for a certification using SAML as an example of learning a concept that might come up in a Salesforce certification exam.

Is a Hamburger a Sandwich? Architecting a Salesforce App : Melissa Hill Dees

So, is a hamburger a sandwich? How about a hot dog? Is that a sandwich? You might read those questions and wonder what on earth I’m talking about. Well, this session from Salesforce MVP, Melissa Hill Dees will go through how you solution a Salesforce app. Using questions around the talking point of understanding requirements and aligning them to how the application is ultimate built. I attended this session at CzechDreamin’ in Prague earlier this year, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Top 5 Tips to Get Your Data Squeaky Clean : Andre Van Kampen

Good quality data is so important when it comes to our Salesforce orgs. Andre Van Kampen will be delivering a great session on this topic at North Africa Dreamin’. In this session, Andre will show us why data quality matters along with sharing his 5 tips on how to get our data squeaky clean.

Solve Your Reporting Challenges with Formulas : David Carnes

Another session on reporting now. This time with David Carnes on the subject of using formulas in our reports. David is a fantastic source for guidance on getting the most out of reports and dashboards, and in this session, David will cover how we can use Row-Level, Summary and Cross-Block Formulas directly in our reports to level up our report game.

Secret Weapons to Level Up Your Communication and Drive Change : Krystle Solomon

Communication is key in any role we do within the Salesforce ecosystem. This session from Krystle Solomon will cover soft skills that we need in order to communicate well in our roles. Topics covered in this session will include, the 5 whys, leveraging silence, and the art of framing. If you would like to learn about how communication skills can help you thrive, this session will be one that is totally worth giving the time to check out.

Magnificent Life of a Consultant : Anna Wałach-Dudzic

Do you know what it means to be a Salesforce Consultant? Maybe you know a Consultant and aren’t 100% on what they do, or if the role is for you. Well in this session, Anna Wałach-Dudzic will guide you through what the role of a Salesforce Consultant is. Talking about the challenges of being one, and also how you can become one if you are considering going down that path.
