Registrations for Build It In Flow are Live!!! Will You Join the Series?

Build It In Flow graphic designed by Mark Jones to promote the series.

It’s been a bit of a long road to get here, but finally Build It In Flow is live!!! Build It In Flow is a series I am running for the Trailblazer Community to help people learn or up-skill in Flow. The series will focus on an approach of working through use cases and then building Flow-based solutions stemming from those said use cases. In this post I want to go over what you need to know about this series and how you can register to be there and get involved.

So let’s get into what you need to know about Build It In Flow.

#1: When Will it Take Place and How Will the Sessions Work?

The series will start on Tuesday 27 September, the week after Dreamforce. Each session will begin at 7pm UK time, so be sure to check what that equates to in your local time zone. Each session will last approximately 1 hour.

The sessions in the series will be as follows:

  • Tuesday 27 September — Introduction and Getting Started with Flow
  • Tuesday 4 October — Migrating Existing Automation to Flow
  • Tuesday 11 October — Managing Campaigns using Flow Builder
  • Tuesday 18 October — Enhancing UX Design with Flow
  • Tuesday 25 October — Working with Email Alerts and Activities
  • Tuesday 1 November — Creating Custom Rollup Summaries in Flow
  • Tuesday 8 November — Working with Notifications and Chatter
  • Tuesday 15 November — Managing Users with Flow
  • Tuesday 22 November — Automate Closing and Deactivating Records
  • Tuesday 29 November — Wrap-Up and Tips for Long-Term Success

The format of each session will be pretty much the same, only the first and last sessions will differ. We’ll begin with a brief recap of the previous week and potentially some time for feedback and questions. We’ll then move on to the use case for the week, starting with an overview of the requirements, then we’ll have a quick discussion about how we can solution it out in Flow. After that we’ll build the solution out in Flow and test it to see if it works. The sessions will draw to a close with time for questions and further discussion.

#2: How Do I Sign Up and Do I Need to Come to Every Session?

Registrations are available now on Eventbrite. Due to the nature of Eventbrite as a platform you will need to sign up for each session individually. However, that does mean that you can sign up for the sessions you are interested in. So if there is a session that you can’t make (or simply aren’t interested in) then you don’t need to sign up for it. You can simply just sign up for the sessions you can make and want to come to. In terms of space, currently there is a maximum of 100 spaces available per session. There is a waitlist available, and that will be reviewed closer to the time of the event. At the time of writing I am away for the week, so registrations will be reviewed when I return home.

To ensure that you have a ticket allocated to you, be sure to sign up to ensure you don’t miss your chance to be there. This will be first come, first served. Invites were sent out to those who had previously expressed interest, and at the time of writing over 30% of the tickets have been allocated for the entire series of sessions.

#3: Will I Need Anything to Be Able to Benefit From These Sessions?

The main thing you will need to benefit from attending these sessions is simply just to be there and to be present. It would also be highly beneficial to have access to a Developer Org so that you can build the Flows yourself as you follow along with the session. The aim is to develop handout resources that can be passed out for each session as well. The plan for that will be to send those handouts to attendees before each session begins. Also make sure that you are connected with me on LinkedIn or Twitter in case you have anything you want or need to ask between sessions. Other than that, all you need to do is to sign up and come to the sessions that you registered for. That’s it.

Closing Remarks

Tickets for Build It In Flow are now publicly available. If you would like to be there, make sure to sign up via the link in this blog to the Eventbrite page. Sign up for a Developer Org and come along to the sessions as they happen. In the meantime, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me online.

I look forward to seeing you at Build It In Flow.
