ROMW CBT Recap

The ROMW Closed Beta Test (CBT) has officially concluded, and we want to express our sincere gratitude to all the Tamers who participated.

Our main goal for this CBT was to ensure that ROMW delivers a fun and engaging experience, and we were thrilled by the incredible response. With over 600,000 battles fought during the test, your enthusiasm was evident.

Here are some highlights from the CBT:

• Total players: 32,000
• Total battles: 640,000
• Highest # of battles by a single player: 1,187
• Top 3 countries by user activity: Philippines, Thailand, Brazil
• Combined playtime on the first day: 23,416.68 hours

Given the high level of participation, we also encountered several challenges. Below are the key issues and feedback we identified, which we are committed to addressing before the Open Beta Test (OBT).

Server Issues and Bugs

The heavy traffic during the CBT resulted in various server-related issues. We conducted regular maintenance and scaling throughout the testing period. We sincerely appreciate everyone who reported errors and bugs through Discord and the bug report system, which allowed us to resolve issues more swiftly. To ensure stable server operations post-launch, we are planning a second CBT focused on stress testing. We will provide more details on this soon.

Matchmaking System

During the CBT, we developed and implemented an MMR-based matchmaking system. This update ensures that players are matched with opponents of similar skill levels during battles.

Tutorial

We received feedback that it was difficult to check Ragmon’s skills and stats and set up decks. In response, we are preparing a more detailed tutorial and upgrading videos to better introduce Ragmon’s unique characteristics.

We continue to review the various issues and suggestions submitted through multiple channels. Our goal is to incorporate as much feedback as possible to make the game even more enjoyable for the OBT.
