EDUCUASE 2019, happening Oct 14–17 in Chicago, is just around the corner… we hope you are as excited as we are!

We look forward to meeting the leaders that are paving the way for innovation in higher education, networking with industry thought-leaders, and sharing demos of our Student Life System with you.

As first-time attendees, we’ve spent a lot of time preparing–reading up on the main topics that will be discussed, and browsing through all 300 sessions. Though we will be busy at Booth S15, here’s a roundup of the sessions we especially wish we could attend.

The EDUCAUSE 2020 Top 10 IT Issues

Tuesday, October 15 | 11:45a.m. — 12:30p.m. CT | W375b, Level 3

“Be the first to learn the 2020 Top 10 IT Issues, which won’t be published until January. A reengineered process more clearly connects the top 10 issues with institutional priorities. Get the overview and then hear a lightning round of perspectives from four Top 10 IT Issues panelists.”

Make Way for Gen Z

Wednesday, October 16 | 8:30a.m. — 9:30a.m. CT | W375b, Level 3

“Are you ready for Gen Z? Don’t be surprised when you find out they are nothing like the Millennials. The time to get to know them is today. If you treat Gen Z like the Millennials, it will backfire. In this dynamic session, you’ll learn the key events and conditions that shape Gen Z; Gen Z’s key traits and how they play out in the workplace; how Gen Z is similar to and different from the other generations and where they are likely to click and clash; and what it will take to recruit, retain, manage, and motivate Gen Z.”

Scaling Innovation that Matters: Redesigning College for the Students of the Future

Wednesday, October 16 | 10:45a.m. — 11:30a.m. CT | W375b, Level 3

“Hear about the most important things the UIA learned from five years of scaling innovation across the country. Learn how to engage failure, how to support new ideas, and the best way to ensure your campus is able to truly harness the potential of innovative ideas.”

While we’re at it, here are a few insider tips that we’ve discovered in our preparation for the event:

  • In case you check out of your housing arrangements early, you can check your luggage on the first floor of McCormick Place, or you can check it at Bounce, just down the block
  • If you have any questions come up during the conference, you can text the information desk at 1–866–913–5307 for answers
  • There is a ‘Relax & Renew’ hub in Room W375a where you can enjoy complimentary massage and hangout in hammocks for some quiet time between sessions
