Hello, RAID community!

Next to the RAID project, we will introduce OP.GG, the core partner of RAID.

As we introduced in Part 1, RAID uses blockchain and token model to return ownership of data to users and to create a decentralized game data ecosystem that allows users to collect and sell data.

Here, we would like to explain why the RAID team started the RAID project with the vision and mission of the team.

RAID team’s vision and mission

RAID team’s vision is “To create better game experiences for everyone”, and the team seeks to realize such vision by pursuing the mission which is “Leveling the game data market”.

The RAID team has started to give everyone a better gaming experience. To realize this vision, some can become a developer who makes games themselves and others can become a publisher who publishes games. However, we believe that there are already plenty of fun games out there. Yet, the reason why some people still find that the game is not fun is that they have not found a game that suits them, while games nowadays spend more money on marketing, rather than on development. Therefore, RAID has set the vision to overcome these hurdles and provide the best gaming experiences for all gamers.

Tae Sung Kim and Chun Woo Park, the co-founders of RAID, have started OP.GG and have grown to become the global №1 game data analysis service visited by 45 million users monthly. They have watched for a long time how distorted and inefficient the game industry truly is. At the same time, we’ve made sure that tens of millions of users are using game data effectively. On the other hand, if we could use this huge amount of game data whenever we wanted, we could have imagined how far the game industry would develop in the future. Sympathized with the vision, the RAID team will create an ecosystem where the value of the game data is recognized and used by those who really need it through the mission “Leveling the Gamedata Market.”

OP.GG, who shared this vision and mission, became the first RAID core partner.

OP.GG, the global leading startup of E-sports/gaming industry

OP.GG is the leading start-up of the global e-sports/gaming industry. Currently, the company is providing services in e-sports industry regarding the Overwatch, Battleground, and Classy Royal to more than 45 million global gamers visiting from 11 regions. OP.GG is the only startup in Korea loved by global gamers. Its website ranks 320th in Alexa for global traffic, followed by Naver, Daum, and Tistory.

Currently, we are extracting billions of data from millions of games, providing advanced statistics services localized in 20 languages. We are providing data services through partnership and MOU with leading companies and organizations. We also provide live content through partnership with Twitch.

The strength of OP.GG is not only the amount of data but also the transformation of unprocessed raw data into information through big data analysis so that gamers can easily express their data in an easy-to-read format to improve their skills and overall experience.

As the first member of RNL, OP.GG’s large pool of users and data processing expertise will become a big asset of RAID.

OP.GG’s strength: Game data processing expertise and technology

Are you familiar with the company named ‘Acxiom’? Founded in 1969, Acxiom is a specialized database marketing company in the United States. As of 2012, it is the largest information trading company in the United States. The company possesses 500 million personal information worldwide and analyze 50 trillion transactions per year. In fact, it led Barack Obama to victory in the presidential election and contributed to the capture of the September 11th terrorists.

Then, what is the current market capitalization of the largest data company in the US?

As of February 19, 2019, Acxiom worths 3.184 billion dollars (link).

How much do you think that Google’s market cap is?

It is 775.984 billion dollars (link) as of February 19, 2019.

The difference between the market capitalization of Acxiom and Google is about 243 times. Google is not the most data-rich company in the world. The founding date is also 1998, which is 29 years later than Excium. So why would this be so different?

Among many reasons, it is the data processing technology that has contributed to making the current difference. Google offers a lot of big data analytics tool including Google Analytics, Data Studio, and more. As a result, many marketers and stakeholders are working using Google tools. In the era of big data, it is important to collect as much data as possible, but simply accumulating large amounts of data is meaningless. The core competitiveness is how well the collected data is analyzed and processed.

Some companies may have more game data than OP.GG. However, no company has provided data in such an easy and convenient way for global game users to utilize data like OP.GG. If OP.GG’s know-how and technology applied to RAID ecosystem, it will be a big help.

To summarize, OP.GG, the global game data company, is the first partner of RAID, and together, we will pursue the efficiency of the existing game market by activating game data industry. At the same time, we intend to create new game data businesses, ultimately to promote the positive growth of the game industry and to provide users with more innovative game experience.

Thank you for reading such a long post. In future, more game companies will participate as RAID’s partners. We will try our best to create the healthier game data ecosystem henceforth.

Thank you.
