After months of work, the features required for the “Red Eyes” milestone are ready and we are taking the first step towards making the promised summer mainnet release by deploying Raiden on the Ropsten testnet, with the code name Icalo.

In order to test, you will need an Ethereum node synced with the Ropsten testnet and you will also need to download Raiden.

For more detailed installation instructions check our documentation. If you have any questions please contact us through gitter.

Road to mainnet

There are still some minor issues left for the mainnet Red Eyes release. Once these are completed and all issues discovered through testing on the testnet are addressed, we will proceed with taking the Red Eyes release to the Ethereum mainnet.

In the initial mainnet release, artificial caps per token will be imposed on a per channel basis. This is to limit potential damage caused by bugs or misuse of the software.

There will also be a bug bounty running along with the mainnet release, details for which will be made available later.

How can I help?

Download Raiden, set up channels, do payments off-chain based on tokens on the Ropsten Network. For a tutorial on how to do it refer to this link. Report any problems you find in our issue tracker and ask us questions in gitter.

The Raiden project is led by brainbot labs Est.
