This is a replica of our January events email, sent on Thursday, 26th January 2021.

Hey Rail and Transport enthusiasts!

It has been quite a while since we’ve seen you all, so anyways happy new year!

2020 has truly been a bumpy journey, and it looks like this journey is going to last a bit longer than expected. On the bright side, we rail and transport enthusiasts always make the most out of every single journey we make, and to be fair it’s not like most slowcomotives arrive on time anyways.

We are not sure where we are headed at, but at the moment we will be calling at:
- Welcome Fair (Until 5 Feb)
- Mapmen — Transport Edition (10 Feb)
- Monthly RailPub Update
- More industry talks (?)

Welcome Fair — Hello 2021!

We know you’re all members already, but why not check out our booth (again)?

Ticket Price: FREE!!!
When: Until 5 Feb
Where: ICU Virtual Fair

So join us for a round of MapMen/MapWomen on a pleasant Wednesday afternoon (not quite sure what the weather will be like), as we roam through our beloved underground and hunt for its secrets.

Ticket Price: FREE — RSVP via our survey!

RailPub: Featured for January

This time, we present the a blast from the past with an article detailing the working principles and innards of a steam locomotive, following the journey of energy from a lump of coal to a 160 ton loco speeding down the line. Have a read!

Read on Medium

RailPub contains a curated selection of transport-themed blogs and society newsletters for the year.

It is also the place for you to share anything you want……be it a diary entry of a trainspotting trip, a collation of photos, a brag on your model train set or ticket collection, a review of Britain’s slowcomotives, or a rant on National Rail’s timetables……anything you want. Have something in mind? learn more about RailPub and pop us an email!

Want more industry talks?

Imperial students are some of the most employable students across all UK universities, due to the university’s reputable academics and its links with the industry. The country’s railways has remained a crucial service amid the pandemic and the industry is continuously growing.

The society has had a history of hosting talks with companies like Vivarail or SWR, and we’ve also worked with CivSoc as well.

We are currently in the process of organising a talk. If you are interested in participating in a talk in the coming months, please respond to our sruvey below!
