Roselit Bone’s Josh McCaslin and Faith Grossnicklaus played a set at Tim’s Tavern on Saturday 27 January 2018. It was great to hear McCaslin live again. His voice and lyrics make me think of a cowboy with a Marty Robbins-Johnny Cash voice picking up a guitar in a saloon in The Dark Tower’s Gilead as the fabric of that world starts to fray. Faith Grossnicklaus’s violin is a perfect companion, brightening the darkness but readied for fiddling as Gilead burns. You can see them on 10 February at Seattle’s Substation.

Tim’s Tavern is a cool little neighborhood spot in north Seattle. I think you can catch live music there just about every day. I can never resist getting the vegan tacos. This show was part of a benefit for Percussion Farms.

We’ve posted other photos from the show at our Rain City Collective website.
