This UK company is bringing us the next best thing since avocado toast — stoneless avocados.

Supremely British multipurpose retailer Marks and Spencers is selling “cocktail avocados” that are stoneless. These avocados are smaller, with thinner skin and are meant to circumvent emergency room visits from “avocado hand,” the name for the slicing or stabbing injury often received when you’re trying to remove the stone in the fruit.

Even in 2012, Meryl Streep was seen wearing a bandage after an incident with an avocado.

Cocktail avocados are a rare find. They are sourced primarily from Spain and come to be as a result of an unpollinated avocado blossom. Marks and Spencers is only selling them for a limited time during the month of December.

According to Specialty Produce, the thinner flesh is creamy with a thin, soft, edible skin. They resemble a zucchini or a baby cucumber.

If slicing or pitting an avocado proves difficult, there are also pre-sliced avocados available to avoid injury and it is important to remember to move the hand holding the avocado when removing the pit. Some people place the avocado on a table when removing the stone.
