Choosing a Major in College Feels Impossible for Students Today

--

The Pressure Is Real — Borden’s Blather

One of the biggest challenges facing college students today is the pressure of deciding on a major as they progress through their education. With so many options and fields to choose from, the decision can feel overwhelming, especially when it’s tied to the uncertainty of future career prospects.

Many students, including myself, struggle with the idea of committing to a single path without knowing if it’s truly the right fit.

It’s a difficult choice that can create anxiety, as we often feel the weight of picking a major that will shape the rest of our lives. To overcome this challenge, I believe it’s essential for students to take the time to explore and discover areas of interest that genuinely excite them.

Achieving a degree shouldn’t just be about picking a major for the sake of it, but about pursuing something that sparks curiosity and passion. By delving into courses and experiences that resonate, students can identify subjects that hold meaning for them.
