Interested in getting a free “Got Science?” sticker?

As the site says, take a true or false quiz that pits your knowledge against industry-funded “experts,” corporations, and think tanks. See if you can tell who’s “Got Science” versus who’s spreading propaganda that’s “Not Science.” Take the quiz at www.gotsci.org

You can get a free “Got Science?” sticker regardless of how well you do on the quiz. It’s sponsored by the Union of Concerned Scientists and Sierra Club.

In Science News:

Triclosans, which are antibacterial agents found in soaps and other household products, have been found to transfer from the pregnant mothers’ body to the fetus. Though a lot of women may be using products with triclosans in an attempt to help protect themselves and their family, they seem to be inadvertently causing problems since this transfer occurs. Triclosans are endocrine disruptors, and the EPA regulates triclosans as a pesticide, to help give a sense of the danger. If you have antibacterial soaps or other products in your household, you may want to consider switching to something much more basic and plain. Regular bar soap seems to be much safer right now.
