Smoke From California Fires by WillametteWeek

Amazon rainforest fire, Australia burning, major pollution and environmental damage due to oil spill in Russia, tropical cyclones that are becoming more deadly each year, over 5.25 trillion macro and micro pieces of plastic in the ocean weighing up to 269,000 tones, 1 million species of animals and plants going extinct due to climate change and human activity.

The list of eco disasters goes on and expands each year. If there is no action taken to reduce emissions, global temperature is on track to rise by an average of 6 °C (10.8 °F). We are living in a time of ongoing global ecological disaster.

«Scientists say we have 12 years to save the world » and some reports say we have 18 months left. Some say, we have no time left.

Social and environmental responsibility plays a huge role in the vision and mission of a lot of corporations. But, most of them still value profit over anything. And that profit comes from us, people. We live in a consumer-driven society divided by terms of income, education, housing, and social status.

While poverty has been declining, more than 3.4 billion people still struggle to afford basic needs. And to these people, consuming cheap products, such as food, clothing, transportation, electronics, is the only way to survive.

«Nearly Half the World Lives on Less than $5.50 a day. »

These industries are responsible for 10 per cent of global greenhouse gases, double the emissions from every building in the entire world.

The truth is, you cannot demand people to change their behaviour and lifestyle and switch to «eco-friendly-zero-waste-lifestyle» when such a lifestyle is way pricier. A middle-class family cannot give up their car and switch to Tesla.

The solution is to create an environment where eco-friendly products and lifestyle is available for everyone. To achieve that, we must start investing in such industries.

«Eco-investing surrounds the interests of sustainable environmental issues, focusing on companies who work on renewable energy and clean technologies. »

With a massive advancement in technology, the introduction of blockchain, tokenization, smart contracts, investments became less intimidating and more accessible, allowing people to contribute and support sustainability actions.

“We believe that these green stocks could, over time, become some of the world’s most valuable companies. Investors should consider tilting their portfolios towards green stocks so they don’t miss this long-term opportunity.”

Time to green up your portfolio and make a change!
