Rivard finished first breaking her Paralympic record in a time of 59.31 seconds. She set a new world record time on Friday to win her first gold medal of the Games. Rivard’s Paralympics is not over yet as she still has three races to go.

“I really just want to focus as much as I can on my races and after that, I’m going to think about the medals and what I accomplished,” Rivard told the Canadian Press. “Once my meet is over, this is when I’m going to start to realize this happened.”
