Innovative Use Digest #7: $RAPS offers in-person event + more for 2021 NBA Draft

This week I’m taking a look at the RaptorsRepublic.com blog and how the $RAPS coin fits into their community of rabid Toronto Raptors fans. Per their bio, “Raptors Republic is the #1 fan community for Raptors game analysis, player analysis, news, trades, free agent signings, and more.”
At launch, the $RAPS team wrote a fantastic entry to their blog readers to let them know how the $RAPS coin would fit into their community. In addition to private Discord access for holding $RAPS, a key benefit they were setting up was free entry to future in-person events for $RAPS coin holders.
With the 2021 NBA Draft just around the corner (July 29, 2021), the team set out to make the most of the $RAPS coin experience for their community. They’ve coordinated three offers for $RAPS holders both local to Toronto and those HODLing $RAPS around the globe.
Offer 1: Free in-person event entry for holding 20 $RAPS!
On July 17, the team took to Twitter and their blog to announce a $20 entry fee for those paying in fiat, or free entry to anyone holding 20 $RAPS. The event sold out in three days with ~20 $RAPS holders attending!
The team is looking forward to using the event to talk to attendees who are not yet $RAPS holders about the benefits of the coin.
Offer 2: Free raffle entry for an autographed Kyle Lowry for holding 100 $RAPS
At the live event (per their coin page benefits), the $RAPS team will draw the name of one lucky person from all the people who hold 100 or more $RAPS. Kyle Lowry is a pretty big deal to Raptors fans, so this is an awesome opportunity to get a unique collectible.
Offer 3: Join the NBA Draft Competition and try to select the first 10 picks correctly
If you fashion yourself an NBA expert or just like a fun competition, the $RAPS team is offering an NBA Draft Competition (info here) where selecting the correct order of the first 10 picks in the 2021 NBA Draft could score you some $RAPS. The competition is offered as a campaign on their coin page. Entries are already pouring in!
