Industry News:

  • Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and Tiffany Zhong, founder of a startup offering an NFT gallery and other related features called Islands, are launching a podcast called Probably Nothing, The Information reported. It’ll be about — you guessed it — NFTs.
  • Speaking of NFTs and Reddit, it turns out that the social network is building a marketplace for NFTs, according to CoinDesk. It’s part of Reddit’s ambition to build “the largest creator economy on the internet” and it’ll all be powered by NFTs, according to a job posting for engineering talent to join the new team.
  • The future of NFTs includes wearables, ticketing and social media clout, according to a long-read from CoinDesk surveying experts in the field. It’s worth scanning the piece to see what’s on the radar for NFT builders.
  • Wu-Tang Clan’s legendary album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is now owned by a DAO, PleasrDAO, to be precise. The collective acquired the single-copy work for $4 million in July, but only revealed the buy last week, to Rolling Stone and others. The group plans to share the music more widely, while respecting the artist’s restrictions around a commercial release or mass distribution.
