New Creators

$PRIOR — A fixture on the comic con circuit, Rob Prior paints live for audiences in excess of 250,000 annually. $THINK — Brandon ‘Stix’ Salaam-Bailey is a dancer, musician, and the founder of the Think Foundation. The coin was created to help educate underrepresented communities with STEM, crypto and financial literacy programs. As a staple in the community, Stix has formed deep rooted community relationships building bridges from the community to some of its professional residents such as LAFC, LA Clippers, and the LA Rams. Stix wants to do NFTs centered around social causes, brand partnerships, and a discord of resources and discussion.

$MERO — I am a top ranked professional Fortnite player and streamer on Twitch. I have won three grand championships on NAE (the most of any player in the region). I strive to be the best I can be and entertain my audience.

$MUZ — I am a professional Fortnite player, who also streams daily on Twitch and is the #1 player in Australia.

$HUGO — I am a Fifa content creator. I do a lot of work with La Liga from spain & Verizon wireless. I stream and do content for a living.

$REBEL — Rebel In Venus creates sex-positive safe spaces for women, survivors of abuse, and sex workers. Through a live show, performed by Alma Dance Theater, private and personalized pole classes, a book, written by Marissa Alma Nick, and other guest-hosted workshops and events that connect and empower women.

$OLI — Oliver Schibli is a multidisciplinary award winning artist based in Switzerland.

$NRD — Nakobe Dean is the one of the nation’s top linebackers in college football and is currently enrolled at the University of Georgia. As a true student-athlete, he majors in Mechanical Engineering. Nakobe is launching $NRD coin to unite his growing fan community and bring them along his journey to the NFL. Using $NRD, he’ll offer NFTs, access to exclusive content, and unique brand partnerships.

$DARK — DARK is an ambient-experimental composer and guitar player who has carved his own territory and innovation in ambient music. Drawing inspiration from numerous strains of human inquiry — architecture, geometry, nature, philosophy, and meditation — DARK’s approach to music reflects the restless and ceaselessly pursuing nature of consciousness.

$LBL — Coach Andre Chevalier is one of the winningest coaches in Southern California basketball history and is currently the head coach of the top 10 nationally ranked Sierra Canyon Basketball team. In his time at Sierra Canyon, he has not only won 3 State Championships in a row but has also made Sierra Canyon the most followed high school basketball team in recent memory. He also owns and operates the youth basketball organization California Basketball Club.

$HOME — The Back HOME Network presented by Homefield Apparel brings together the most popular and long-standing content creators serving fans and alumni of Indiana University. Featuring The Assembly Call, Crimson Cast, Inside the Hall, and more, the Back Home Network creates sports and lifestyle content focused on the IU sports fan and also hosts a comprehensive IU sports discussion community.

NFT Spotlight

$JOW’s NFT shows Jeremiah Owyang performing a fully airborne superman pushup, painted by digital artist Yashika Kakalra. This piece will grant NFT owners access to premium events to discuss leveling up their Web 3.0 strategies as well as a behind-the-scenes session with artist Yashika and Jeremiah to discuss art, and wellness.

Industry News

First came crypto Twitter, where crypto people talk shop. Now comes Twitter Crypto, a new unit at the social media platform focused on developing ideas from the crypto world. It’s all very vague, but Tess Rinnearson, who has been hired to lead the unit, name-drops creators in her announcement, noting that they are increasingly interested in decentralized apps to manage virtual goods and currencies, the Verge reported.

YouTube is hiding its “dislike” counter because it’s being abused to target creators on the platform, Polygon reported. Some creators are suffering from users bombarding the dislike button because of animus towards the creator, causing videos to be less visible on the platform. The dislike button itself will remain, but its tally won’t be publicly visible.

Social tokens media and data site Forefront is developing a social token index, according to a Mirror post. The index will be a basket of social tokens that lets holders easily gain exposure to the space without researching, buying and holding individual tokens. It’s in the early stages of development.

Discord is discarding its plans to integrate with Ethereum after an initial hint by its chief executive was met with a wave of negativity from non-crypto users, Decrypt reported. The community messaging platform has become a hive of crypto activity in recent months.
