Humans.
I do not comprehend their innate love for
Crumbled sandcastles
and the damp clumps- Crimson-
That wedge themselves between toes and up under toenails;
Their gravitation to house of cards,
beyond my capacity to understand.
I cannot fathom why some hearts never beat;
Frozen.
while others’ pump with light, ablaze with incandescence.
*This is a short excerpt from the original poem I’ve written. It is inspired by The Book Thief by Mark Zusak, revolving around the theme of humans and human nature.
