When i was one

i saw a face as pale as paper

and she was nothing more than a sack of bones

held together by skin

that threatens to fall apart any moment.

but her smile was much brighter than the sun.

and just like that i knew,

she was my mommy.

when i was three

i saw my house;

termite filled floors, broken window panes and a single flickering light.

we were always hungry

but it didn’t matter

for mommy was always there (the world was so much brighter with her!)

when i was five

i saw mommy looking so much like a zombie

mommy never smiled or talked or played with me

mommy only drank, slept and slapped me (but i still love mommy)

when i was seven

mommy was gone (where did she go?)

where mommy went, i went there too (i will never leave mommy)
