Porcelain vase

A thing of beauty

Is a joy forever

…Or so they say

But when kept in a cupboard, up the attic

The vase’s beauty fades away

For what’s the use in a vase that is hidden from sight

That isn’t displayed gloriously

Like it’s maker designed

Only atop the counter

In the middle of the hall

Perhaps holding some flowers

Will it have answered it’s call

But what if it falls off the counter and shatters?

The cupboard is the only safe place…
