Last month, we unveiled our color map solution designed to enrich the visual experience within our software, offering our users a fresh perspective on their data. This June, we’re excited to introduce a collection of resources aimed at enhancing user experience and facilitating rapid analysis post-data acquisition.

Length tool

The most common request we have heard from our users was that they would love to be able to rapidly measure the size of objects in the images acquired with the MCAMTM. In 2 clicks, users can now get a quick readout on objects of interest and can scan their images visually and repeat the operation for every object of interest.

As you can see in the capture below, the tool reports the length of the zebrafish in the most appropriate unit.

Region tools

While some information can be gleaned from using the length tool, for example, to measure the diameter of each eye, one may also need to measure the areas of the eyes, swim bladder, or other regions. Our new tool allows you to pick the major and minor axes to fit any morphological landmark and instantaneously obtain its surface area. To generate a perfect circle rather than an ellipse, hold down the Shift key on the second click!

Sometimes a simple rectangle is all you need to measure the border of your object. Even if your specimen isn’t a perfect square, the rectangular area selection will still allow you to measure the basic dimensions of your sample!

Enlarged Overview

We always want to ensure that our users know which well or wells are currently displayed on their screen and how to quickly locate wells of interest in their well plate. It is a challenge to balance displaying the overview of the full plate while keeping most of the screen for what matters the most: the data!

Users now have the option to change the size of the plate overview at the top right corner of the window. Clicking the reset view button will re-center the well plate to the center of the window.

In honor of Pride Month, we have also released a Pride edition of our colormap. We hope you enjoy all of these new ways to visualize your data!
