Rampp’s front page as of April 2022

Every single time Tim and I hop on an investor, partner, or onboarding call, we always encounter the same question, “What is Rampp?”

The first initial assumptions that we get are:

“You guys are an NFT platform? A marketplace?”

“You’re like Manifold! You can make nfts!”

“Are you going to compete with OpenSea?”

Long story, short: We are none of those!

In fact, Rampp’s entire purpose is to make the launch and creation of NFT communities more accessible. We recognized a while back that NFTs were never the end goal, instead they were and are, the catalyst for some amazing things that are being created in the Web 3 space!

So it makes total sense for us to unlock the most “gatekept” part of the process of launching NFTs: the actual creation of the smart contract.

And then we also help with everything else that makes an NFT release successful: IPFS storage, embeddable mint button, partnership with no-code website builder, discord bot tooling, and most importantly, complete contract ownership (which leads to marketplace agnosticism).

We aren’t just the tool to make your smart contract, we’re the tool to make your NFT community!

Now that was the short story, so if you have time, here’s the long story:

We like doing projects. That’s kind of our thing. Peep Tim’s Senate Stock Watcher and my odd collection of podcasts.

All throughout 2021, Tim and I constantly exchanged ideas about NFTs, Web 3, and the space’s future capabilities, and it was only until Tim approached me in November about this tool that he made to generate his smart contracts, that the budding’s of a full-on product were conceptualized.

During Tim’s time doing Web 3 smart contract contract (English is hard) work, he quickly noticed that majority of his clients were requesting 90–95% of the same thing- Allowlists, ERC721, airdropping, open/close minting, and pre-revealing. Due to this pattern recognition, Tim decided that the best use of his time was to create a generator that could spit out a smart contract based around that 90–95%, and then add the customization where necessary.

Tim was not charging a lot, in fact, the current market rate based around discussions we’ve had with other smart contract developers is as low as $10K base per smart contract (as high as $100k in some other cases!!) and they’ll sometimes take around 30–40% from the mint and royalties. Of course this is variable, but just based on the average it was evident that this type of pricing model was only gatekeeping the technology rather than making it more accessible.

With all this in mind, Tim decided it was in the greater space’s interest for such a tool that could deploy large collections and let users preserve ownership to be open to the public to use.

The Fateful December

Tim in early December decided to tweet, post, and upload a youtube video about Rampp through his personal social channels. He mentioned it in passing in our friend group chats, and we initially were just supporting the awareness of the tool to people who wanted to launch collections.

Not much time passed and quickly, Tim found that his Youtube video:

Had accumulated a whopping 700 views in less than a week of posting (sadly no photo of the views during that week).

As of April 27, it’s only gained about 500 more views

So he knew that there was something there especially since the one post led to his twitter dms blowing up asking about Rampp and also an influx of interest around launching collections.

In the span of the last two weeks of December alone (holiday season?!), Rampp ended up accumulating over 150 users organically with new inquiries everyday barraging Discord and Twitter.

Tim immediately knew that he couldn’t handle this thing alone, so he solicited the help of myself in the first week of January to help him run this tool as a potential start up.

Fast forward to April!

In 3 1/2 months since public beta, Rampp now has over 2200 users, has seen an average 45% MoM organic growth, and we’ve made our creators over $300k! We currently offer 3 different chain supports (Ethereum, Polygon, and Optimism) and also support both ERC721A and ERC1155 NFT smart contract standards. And we’re just getting started!

If you want to come support us and also get access to all of our future premium features, we have a Flight Pass drop for the public to mint or you can just try the tool out for yourself and launch your own awesome NFT community!

Happy building!
