Stacia was one of the first writers to join Agency Magazine when it started, becoming a staple in our paranormal romance department. But she didn’t stop at the category; she mixed in a heavy helping of noir and became a fan favorite! With a new pen and book on the way, it was time I got a chance to find out what makes Stacia tick! Medium readers, this interview includes links to other Medium stories and outside of Medium to help promote this author. Enjoy!

Q: Stacia, welcome to the Google document! How are you?!

A: I am good!

Q: It’s not every day someone pops into your Google Documents to ask you questions about your writing career and process, and I know you have many things to discuss. You’ve been making some huge transitions recently, but first, I want to talk about what got you started in your writing walk.

A: It began in 2020 when I wondered if it was possible for me to write a novel. I found my voice and completed my first novel in 2022. I reacquainted with a voice I had forgotten and the romance genre. This ignited a spark I had smothered while raising children and working on a career. Writing has become my passion and everything I am working towards.

Q: You’ve written Historical Romance so far based on your background as an educator on the subject. You can also speak fluent German and have traveled parts of Europe. How has that helped you in your journey?

A: This background fuels ideas and helps to reduce a bit of the research because there is an insane amount. I love all things historical, so combining them with romance made the perfect genre for me. My background drives my stories. It helps me to create plots that are based on historical facts with pictures in my head from my travels.

Q: Tell me about your process in writing your debut novel, Bathed in Moonlight, and how you created the characters Jimmy O’Brien and Greta Muller.
