Saturday School

a Rebel Angel poem

Photograph by Author

After-school special
Mama’s little deviant
Social experiment
Everything irrelevant
The secret ingredient
is more of my bullshit
Plaguing your future
like a Covid variant
13th hour in the
8th extinction
Time isn’t real
Neither is your reflection
vodka lullabies
Marlboro kisses
Crooked smiles
Deathbed wishes
If we run out of Ativan
We’ll smoke all the Narcan
Uncle Benny
and Aunt Pam
on that Space Jam
caravan
on the goddamn
run in Amsterdam
In order to be remembered
you have to be forgotten

I work 7 days a week at 2 jobs. In between, I write fiction, poetry, a weekly column, essays, mental health articles, and all the weird in my head.
