Postcard of love

In the summer of 82,
They both met in a train.
Different destinations,
Hearts together, beating for each other.

Before they parted,
She gave him her address.
And he made a promise,
Of a postcard of love.
And so they wrote,
The feelings of two halves of a separated soul,
Connected together,
Through a postcard of love.

And one week he had to wait,
longer than it ever had been,
The heart began to flutter,
and the mind started to wonder.

A year has gone,
Postcards piling up,
In front of a dilapidated home.
But she read all of them,
From a place,
Where no mortal can go.
