[#19] A Night Before The Dawn
A tale told by Apurva Chawla
The story begins at The Haveli.
Saafiya stood there while Leah and Wes used their candles and vanished. Seeing Ryu strangle Shreyansh, she looked around her to find something. She found a stone artifact right behind her on a shelf, picked it up and ran towards Ryu. Ananya came in her way and grabbed her hand.
“Oh you still have those nerves, Saafi?” she said and pushed her with force.
Shreyansh got hold of Ryu’s hands and tried escaping his hold. He could feel that Ryu is more powerful than Raghav ever was. He punched Ryu on his nose, “You deserve that for hurting Saafiya.”
Saafiya heard him but continued to fight Ananya and she suddenly got hold of a knife from her side and tried threatening Ananya.
“I swear I’ll kill you if you come one step near me”, she said, almost screaming. Ryu came to help Ananya and tried reaching for Saafiya’s hand which was holding the knife but Saafiya was quicker. “I said, don’t come near us you two!” Saafiya shouted at them.
Shreyansh took the benefit of the situation and moved behind Ryu and swiftly took out the candle from his jacket pocket. Shreyansh was a little surprised to see Raghav in a jacket because the last time when he saw him, he was in his night suit.
“Got the candle, Saafi. Let’s lock them in the bedroom till we find out your parents!”
Ryu tried escaping the situation by reaching for Saafiya’s hands. But she was too quick for him. She tried shifting them towards the bed room, “Move! Move you two!”
They were eventually cornered and when in the bedroom, Shreyansh locked the door from outside. They shifted the heavy sofa in front of the closed door and ran outside with both the candles. They locked the main gate as well and ran towards their car and started driving.
“What the hell, what should we do now?! Where are my parents?” Saafiya panicked. Shreyansh while driving tried to calm her down, “We’ll find them. We will. We have both the candles now. We can go to future and come back with the another.”
“It won’t be possible to kill Wes in future. He would have his army of men to fight us. No!”
“Where do you think your parents can be? What could Wes do with them?”
Saafiya’s eyes widened for a moment at a thought but then she relaxed a bit. “My dad is at least safe, I guess. They cannot kill dad because a brother cannot get another brother killed. And also, I am still alive. Therefore, he is alive in past too”, she said in a lower tone. He shrugged at her words but ignored. He asked, “Do we have a better plan?”
“What would they do with Kaka?” she said, tears building up in her eyes, again.
“If we hurry, we might be able to save him as well”, he said.
“We have to find another way, Shrey. There is no bloody chance we get out of future alive. We have seen how powerful Leah and Wes are.”
“Saafiya, did you hear what Kaka said before getting sucked into the candle?”
“Something like ‘kill the child’. I didn’t understand him so I ignored. What child could he be…”, she stopped mid sentence, realizing the answer to her question.
He noticed her and asked, “Wes?”
She didn’t answer. She was calculating the feasibility.
After a moment she said, “Yes. Yes I think that is more feasible than killing Wes in his power.”
Shreyansh considered the thought for a moment and just said, “Alright then. What time was he born in?” He said with a tinge of humour in his voice to calm her down a little.
She understood it and looked at him with a light smile and teary eyes. She couldn’t thank him enough for being with her when nobody was.
She said, “Good thing is, we just have to think of the time. Park the car somewhere safe.”
