This is Apple Car’s suspension
Thoughts on Apple Car, Part 53
Pictured above is BOSE’s linear electromagnetic motor. It is designed to leapfrog the driving experience of today’s cars. Instead of bumping, a car with this suspension will „float“ over all road bumps.
I believe Apple Car will adopt this technology.
How is this built?
I expect Apple Car to have four walls and in each corner a column to host the wheels. Their vertical cylindric design is perfect for the motor pictured above. The columns by the way are independent from each other (no axes), and the wheels can turn 180 degrees independently.
„Each front wheel is fully independent, since no anti-roll bars are required.“

Why is this important?
Since autonomous cars will basically be smart rooms on smart wheels, the driving experiences changes from racing to travelling. For the latter, you’d want as little disturbance as possible. A racer accepts road bumps, a traveller who likes to read, eat or write during their trip wants convenience and a calm and quiet personal experience.
This experience is what Apple Car will compete on. Not on specs, not on features, not on horse power. Experience.
