Roster

Top: GUIGO / Betão
Jungle: Aegis
Mid: Grevthar / Avenger
Bot: TitaN
Support: Jojo
Coach: Coelho

Region Overview/Format:

  • Brazil started competing 2012, went international in 2013, formed CBLOL (league format) in 2014
  • CBLOL 2022 Split Format was a 10 team, Bo1, Double Round Robin Format, followed by seeded double elimination playoffs
  • Top 4 seeds started in the upper bracket, while 5th/6th seeds started in the lower bracket (single elimination)
  • Has never gotten out of Group Stages in MSI or Worlds (furthest was RED Canids in Worlds 2021 making it to the Knockout portion of Play-ins)
  • Region most famous for the infamous KaBuM! win over Alliance to push C9 through Groups at Worlds 2014
  • CBLOL likes carry top-lanes, and tend to play through teamfights with strong bot-laners. Mid-lane has been rather middling for most teams and not that active in the early game
  • 2022 Split 1 was very competitive, with a 4-way tie between 4th-7th to end the Regular Season, and a Playoff bracket that saw RED win it through the Lower Bracket

Team Overview:

  • 3 times CBLOL Champions, and current back-to-back defending Champions (MSI 2017, Worlds 2021, MSI 2022)
  • Exact same 6-man roster as Worlds 2021, whole team has international experience
  • All-Brazilian team, no imports. Very emotional and momentum based team
  • Nicknamed “Day Care Canids” from 2021 due to youth of team (was average 20+ at the time), but also because they were emotional and not very controlled in gameplay
  • Went from Brazilian Challenger Circuit in 2020 to back-to-back Champions in just over a year
  • Played the most games of CBLOL teams this split: 21 Playoff games (12W — 9losses), 18 Regular Season Games (11–7), total of 39 games (more games in Playoffs than Regular Season)
  • RED tend to play for mid/late-game teamfights and have below average laning

Player Takeaways:

  • GUIGO
-Solid player who is willing to play weak-side tank for the team (rare in CBLOL)
-On Camille, often becomes GUIGOD and carries games
    -Rarely counterpicks
  • Aegis
-Early game rock for the team, tends to path bot early
-Has been playing engage for the team, but has some carry picks (flexible player)
-Has very strong synergy with Grevthar
  • Grevthar
    -
Shares time with Avenger mid, but played most of the Playoffs
    -Has below average laning stats
-Used to play heavy roam champions, but in Playoffs switched to Viktor/Vex/Ahri (mostly team-fighting)
    -Strong synergy with Aegis
  • TitaN
    -
Primary carry of the team and most experienced player (4x CBLOL champion)
-Considered by some to be the successor to brTT (most famous and successful bot-laner in Brazil)
-Captain and heart of the team, if he is doing poorly, RED will massively struggle
-Has been struggling somewhat in lanes, especially due to enemy focus on bot-lane
-VERY LOUD (his screams can be heard even through sound-proofing)
  • Jojo
    -
Very steady support, not particularly flashy, but excels at protecting TitaN
-Willing to play supports (not preferred in CBLOL)
-Doesn’t give up deaths very often or easily
  • Avenger
    -
6th man for RED, splits time with Grevthar
-Only played 2 games in Playoffs (both losses)
-Stronger laning than Grevthar, but much lower Kill Participation
-Was swapped in at Worlds 2021 when Grevthar struggled to survive lane
  • Betão
    -
Rookie player who just had his CBLOL debut in 2022 Split 1 Playoffs, 2 games (both losses)
-Unsure if we’ll see him used at MSI 2022
-Struggled in the 2 games he played, not a lot of data to work with

General Narratives:

  • Returning CBLOL Champions for their 2nd international event (exact same roster)
-This team has a lot of cohesion and it shows in their teamfighting
  • How much has RED grown since last year?
-2022 Split 1 looked tougher and closer than 2021 Split 2
  • GUIGO has proven to be one of the best top-laners in the region, all while playing tanks and not carries, a different style from the rest of Brazil
  • TitaN continues to be one of the best bot-laners in CBLOL, but had an uninspiring showing at Worlds 2021, looking to prove himself again
  • 6 man roster wasn’t particularly showcased in CBLOL 2022, but it helped find wins at Worlds 2021
-which will be more effective, Grevthar’s teamfighting style or Avenger’s stronger laning?

Region History

  • Brazil has been a competitive region since 2012, with their 1st champions being VInce Te Ipsum (disbanded at the end of Season 2)
  • CBLOL was created in 2014 (Season 4) to replace the single tournament format of Riot Season 2/3 Brazilian Championship
  • Only paiN Gaming and KaBuM! e-Sports remains of the teams preceding CBLOL and who played in the 1st split of CBLOL (2014)
  • Franchising was introduced in 2021, expanding CBLOL from 8 to 10 teams, eliminating promotions and the Brazilian Challenger Circuit, replacing it with the Academy League system
  • Since franchising and expanding in 2021, CBLOL format has been double round robin in regular season followed by seeded playoffs
  • 2022 saw the change of playoff format from single elimination to double elimination

Player Nationality (last 5 splits):

2022 Split 1 – 83.6% Brazilian(51), 14.8% Korean(9), 1.6% Oceanic(1)
2021 Split 2 – 85% Brazilian(51), 10% Korean(6), 1.7% Portuguese(1), 1.7% Russian(1),1.7% Armenian(1)
2021 Split 1 – 84.6% Brazilian(55), 6.2% Korean(4), 3.1% Argentinian(2), 3.1% Chilean(2), 1.5% German(1), 1.5% Portuguese(1)
2020 Split 2 – 87.3% Brazilian(48), 9.1% Korean(5), 1.8% Japanese(1), 1.8% Portuguese(1)
2020 Split 1 – 78.2% Brazilian(43), 14.5% Korean(8), 1.8% Chilean(1), 1.8% Chinese(1), 1.8% Mexican(1), 1.8% Portuguese(1)

CBLOL 2022 Split 1 Overview:

  • Off-season was very busy, only 1 team retained roster from last split: RED Canids
  • A super-team was formed: FURIA, had a strong start, but weak finish in the season
  • A lot of upsets, no team was incredibly dominant, even at end of season, there was a 4-way tie (paiN, Netshoes Miners, Liberty & LOUD) for 4th to 7th, which ended up depending on total winning game time to break the tie
  • Only 3 wins separated top seed (KaBuM! 13–5) from 6th seed (Liberty 10–8) to qualify for playoffs
  • Playoffs were also close, with multiple series going to a full 5 games
  • As a region, CBLOL tends to favour aggressive top-lane carries, but tend to play around their bot-side
  • Primary win-condition is team-fighting in the mid-game, though early game tends to focus around top/jungle and Herald
  • The top-lane and bot-lane player pool has been strong this split, while the mid-lane has been a little quieter. Jungle has seen the most diversity in play-style, with some junglers opting for more defensive power-farming into objectives, while others have gone for full-on early ganks and invades

Goals/Expectations

  • Try to get out of Groups Stage
  • RED Canids are back-to-back champions and every player now has international experience, so expected to not be as affected on stage
  • Domestically, RED Canids had struggles, and do not look as dominant as they did last split, which suggests they might not be as strong in the current meta as Worlds 2021

Team Overview/History

  • 3 times CBLOL Champions, and current back-to-back defending Champions
-CBLOL 2022 Split 1 Champions / MSI 2022 CBLOL Representatives
-CBLOL 2021 Split 2 Champions / Worlds 2021 CBLOL Representatives
-CBLOL 2017 Split 1 Chapmions / MSI 2017 CBLOL Representatives
  • All-Brazilian team, no imports. Very emotional and momentum based team.
  • Only CBLOL team to keep their entire intact from 2021 Split 2
  • This roster has been (mostly) together since 2020 Split 2, so a lot of synergy built up
-2020 Split 2 had a different support (Cabu), and Grevthar was on the Academy team
  • Only CBLOL team to try and run an active 6 (or 7 — not sure about Betão) person roster
  • 3rd most CBLOL championships (tied w/ paiN Gaming), and youngest organization to do it:
    1st: INTZ (est. 2014) - 5 titles
    2nd: KaBuM! e-Sports (est. 2013) - 4 titles
    3rd: RED Canids (est. 2016) & paiN Gaming (est. 2012) - 3 titles
  • This specific roster also has the nickname of “Day Care Canids” from 2021, where the average age of the team was 20+ years old, making them one of the youngest teams in CBLOL
-Also partially referencing their lack of discipline in gameplay at the time, and less reserved, more exuberant screaming/shouting while playing
  • First played in CBLOL 2016 Split 1, was previously 2nd INTZ team under the name INTZ Red, till Riot disallowed multiple teams under the same organization
  • Was relegated from CBLOL in 2018 Split 2, and spent 2 years in the Brazilian Challenger Circuit (BRCC 2019–2020)
  • Won BRCC in 2020 for a chance to promote to CBLOL 2021, which ended up not mattering since CBLOL switched to franchising in 2021. Thankfully, RED Canids were one of the franchised organizations
  • Within 1 year (2021), RED Canids went from a BRCC team to CBLOL Champions with 4 newbies who had never played in CBLOL before (GUIGO, Aegis, Avenger and Grevthar)
  • Played the most games of CBLOL teams this split: 21 Playoff games (12W — 9losses), 18 Regular Season Games (11–7), total of 39 games
  • Played more games in playoffs than in the Regular Season

Regular Season Performance

  • Ended the Regular Season as 3rd seed, 11–7
  • Started the season strong, existing synergy and confidence from winning last split showed, but that quickly fell off towards the end of the Regular Season
  • Utilized a mix of Grevthar and Avenger through the Regular Season (Grevthar: 8 Games [5W-3L], Avenger: 10 Games [6W-4L])
  • 1st Round Robin, 6W-3L:
-1st Round Robin ended in the middle of Week 5 with a 3-way tie for 3rd place (RED, Liberty and LOUD)
-Round 3 loss to Liberty was unexpected, but not a huge surprise as Liberty came out the gates swinging
-Round 6 loss to FURIA was watershed moment in the split which meant RED weren’t the best team, and FURIA might be the top team this split
-Round 7 loss to Flamengo was a shocker as Flamengo had just promoted 80% of their Academy team this split and were still struggling to come together
  • 2nd Round Robin, 5W-4L:
-First 4 rounds of the 2nd Round Robin were good, but RED bombed the last quarter of the Regular Season, going 1–4 to enter playoffs
-Round 17 win over INTZ didn’t mean much as they were the weakest team in the league and looked defeated at this point
  • Gold Differentials:
-Very average gold stats, nothing special. Stable team that doesn’t particularly spike in gold early or late
    -Solid CS’ing numbers
-Not very gold efficient (8th out of 10 teams), which suggests they don’t fight frequently, but instead pick critical fights
  • Objective Control:
-Again, very average for objective stats, a notable priority on Heralds over Dragons in the early game
-Less focus on Barons, which suggests that they are either lacking Baron priority, or closing games out by fighting instead
  • Kill Stats
-Pretty strong kills/death stats which further reinforces that RED is a team that picks their fights well
-Not afraid to trade deaths for meaningful or just more kills

-Map below indicates kills before 15 minutes
-Priority seems to be bot-lane, followed by top-lane. Very little focus on mid-lane. If anything, higher focus on objectives than on mid pressure
-On Blue side, RED’s bot-lane is taking turrets early and pushing up aggressively (circled in yellow)
-On Red Side, RED’s top side appears to get more aggressive tower dives with support from the team (circled in red)

Blue side games on left, Red side games on right — size of blue circles indicates assists
  • Tower Stats
-Very average tower stats, suggesting that RED is not a tower-macro focused team
-Surprisingly high number of towers lost on average considering they’re winning most of their games

Overall, a very middling performance in the Regular Season. RED continued to play to their preferred style, which revolves around getting TitaN ahead scaling up to mid/late game, and then forcing team-fights to leverage their bot-laner.

Playoff Performance (top 6 teams qualified)

  • Got 3–0'd to start the Playoffs by 1st seed KaBuM!, then played through the Lower Bracket to eventually win it all
  • Had to face all of the top 3 teams, and ended up playing more games in the Playoffs than the Regular Season
  • Did not sweep a single series in the Playoffs 3–0
  • Only played Avenger and Betão in the 1st series of Playoffs against KaBuM! — 2 games (both losses)
  • Heavily preferred Blue side (16 games: 9W-7L) compared to Red side (5 games: 3W-2L)
  • Despite the long path through playoffs, RED performed significantly better than in Regular Season
  • Consistently improved throughout the playoffs
-Got their revenge for the Round 1 loss (0–3) against KaBuM! in the Lower Finals (3–0)
-Continued to play primarily through the bot-lane of TitaN and Jojo until the Finals
-Grand Finals saw every single player step up, but especially Guigo who managed to win multiple weak-side tank match-ups
-But even then, 3–2 for Grand Finals is still a less than stellar finish, and there were still mistakes in the early game that gave early leads to their opponents
  • Gold Differentials
-Still not very efficient at generating gold from laning. Negative gold difference at 15 mins shows that RED is not an early game team
-Overall CS/M is the lowest in the playoffs, though 2nd highest Gold/M. Most gold being generated from objectives and kills
-Fastest game time suggests that RED’s strength is in the mid-game, and they know how to close out the moment they get a lead
  • Objective Control
-As expected, most of their gold is coming from objectives, with an early focus on Heralds
-Despite getting Heralds early, tower stats (below) suggest that RED is not efficient at early tower takes, and might be capitalizing more on plates instead
-Lacking focus on early Dragons, but still have the highest AVG Dragons and highest % of Dragons taken, once again showcasing their mid-game
-Big improvement on % Barons taken from Regular Season, but they don’t actually take that many Barons (4th in playoffs). More that they are good at denying from other teams
  • Kill Stats
-One of the big improvements from the regular season, they’re dying less and making more early game pro-active plays
-As seen from the kill maps, they’re pressuring dives a lot more effectively pre-15 minutes, though their CS is partially suffering from this
-First Blood rate is above 50%, but partially inflated by games against Liberty, RED are still a little slow in the early game
Blue side games on left, Red side games on right — size of blue circles indicates assists
  • Tower Stats
-For the Champions of CBLOL, 6.3 AVG towers lost is not a good sign, they’re a middling team who are willing to sacrifice towers to make plays elsewhere. Potentially an issue against better macro teams
-First Tower % rate is very low, 2nd worst team in the Playoffs considering they get the most Heralds. Suggests inefficient use of Herald

Picks / Bans

  • Specific win-rates and player picks will be discussed further below in the player-specific section
  • In terms of picks, RED are one of the few CBLOL teams to regularly run a tank in the top lane, allowing them to blind-pick top side frequently
  • Generally favour hard engage from the jungle
  • Mid favours either globals or scaling team-fighting(with Grevthar). With Avenger, they have a champion ocean allowing flexibility mid. Either way, RED prioritizes counter-pick for mid-lane
  • Bot-lane primarily favours scaling ADCs (no APCs), and either Leona/Nautilus for hard engage, or defensive supports
Round Robin RED Picks
Playoffs RED Picks
  • In both Regular Season and Playoffs, GUIGO drew the most bans, with his Camille banned in more than half the games, and drawing Ornn bans regularly on Blue Side
  • Despite TitaN being the main carry on the team, he mostly drew Caitlyn and Zeri bans, which was more due to meta than specific target bans
  • Grevthar drew significantly more bans in the Regular Season even though he played more unique champions, and had better stats in the Playoffs
  • Aegis got focused more in bans as Hecarim came into meta, and his Lee Sin play-making potential was more respected in Playoffs as well
  • Jojo drew more bans in Playoffs due specifically to Renata

Playstyle / Players to Watch

  • Because RED Canids tend not to prioritize counter-picks, they are more are more comfortable on Blue Side where they can get priority picks for themselves
  • Priority for P/B is generally on securing themselves a strong ADC, most recently Jinx/Zeri/Aphelios, though that is likely to change on MSI patch
  • Both GUIGO and Grevthar are likely to blind their picks and give counter-pick to Jojo instead. Even when given counter-pick, Grevthar is unlikely to hard counter, has had a rather limited champion pool
  • If Avenger is played, RED Canids are likely to save counter-pick for him to win lane
  • Even as RED tend to play for mid/late-game team-fighting, TitaN and Grevthar are expected to scale up regardless if they win/lose lane
  • RED will tend to focus bot-side unless GUIGO is strong-side (on a carry), or if Avenger is being utilized
  • Early game will depend more on Aegis’ early pathing, and whether GUIGO gets crushed in lane.
-If RED do not fall too far behind, they are in their comfort zone. However, RED traditionally have not performed terribly well in the early game, and strong teams could take advantage of that

Top: GUIGO

  • Originally from the RED Canids Academy team, GUIGO joined the main RED Canids roster in 2019 Split 1 when they were in the BRCC (Brazilian Challenger Circuit)
  • Youngest player on the roster (not sure about Betão) — 20 years young
  • One of the few CBLOL top-laners willing to play tank, and play it well
    -Played Ornn/Sion/Malphite/Gragas a total of 13 times (out of 37 games - 35%)
-Entire CBLOL only played tanks 31 times in 2022 Split 1, so GUIGO alone accounted for 42% of all CBLOL tank tops played (just under half!)
  • Nicknamed GUIGOD when he pops off, he is often one of the players the crowds/fans look to have pop off for RED wins (even on tanks)
  • Drew the most bans of all RED players through the Split (57 bans), with Camille being the most targeted bans (23 bans out of 39 games - 59% ban rate)
  • If on tank duty, usually primary engage for RED
  • Regular Season performance:
-Was very average, did not stand out
-Played tanks, but noticeably less than in Playoffs (3 out of 18 games, 16.7%)
-Tried a variety of champions, but still found most success on tanks (100% win-rate- 2 wins on Ornn, 1 win on Gragas)
Regular Season Picks — GUIGO
Regular Season Stats — GUIGO
  • Playoff Season performance:
-Was immovable top side, leading First Bloods despite mostly playing tanks
    -Played markedly more tanks (10 out of 19 games - 53% of games, with a 70% win-rate)
-One of the biggest keys to RED Canid winning team-fights, with the highest Assists of all top-laners in Playoffs
Playoff Picks — GUIGO
Playoff Stats — GUIGO

Jungle: Aegis

  • Originally from the RED Canids Academy team, Aegis spent quite a while there in 2018/2019. Finally moved up to the main roster in 2020
  • Was part of the 2020 RED Academy roster along with Grevthar and built a lot of synergy there, which has carried over to this current roster
  • Flexible style of play, can play the meta early game and keep RED alive till the mid/late game, or can go for late game carries with Diana/Viego
  • Often has to carry the early game for RED as the lanes aren’t very strong, still maintains incredible early CS numbers despite having to protect lanes
  • One of the most consistent players, often is the primary engage (shared with GUIGO when GUIGO is on a tank)
  • Most number of unique junglers played (9, tied w/ Croc, Ranger & Wiz)
  • Tends to prefer Blue Buff starts, but often likes to path bot early to cover for TitaN/Jojo
  • Regular Season performance:
    -
Strong early performance, often generated leads in the jungle
-Highest Solo Kills is interesting, as Aegis isn’t usually a particularly aggressive early jungler
-Won the most MVP votes in the Regular Season of all RED players (5 MVPs, 2nd tied w/ Envy, Hauz and tinowns)
Regular Season Picks — Aegis
Regular Season Stats — Aegis
  • Playoff Performance:
-Continued to have solid performances, and if anything did even better
-Meta changed and Hecarim coming into meta was great for Aegis, very proficient on the champion
-Switched from more early game dueling/ganking to more focus on hard engage for the team
-Won another 4 MVPs in Playoffs, only behind teammate TitaN (tied w/ Wizer)
Playoff Picks — Aegis
Playoff Stats — Aegis

Mid: Grevthar

  • Did NOT get his start on RED Canids, and actually started with a small team called “Neo Llamas & Friends” back in 2017
-Later on, got picked up by paiN Gaming Academy in 2018, but failed to find success there
-Ended up joining RED Academy in the latter half of 2019, where he formed a strong bond with Aegis which persists till today
  • Grevthar’s debut to CBLOL was in CBLOL 2021 Split 2 Playoffs, where he was so impressive that he ended up winning that Playoff and starting for RED at Worlds 2021
  • Generally considered a very cheerful and optimistic player who helps keep team morale up in any situation
  • Last year was known for sacrificing lane CS to get priority for Aegis and constantly invading the enemy jungle. Had a Kled mid pocket pick which examplified this style
  • Generally not known for his laning stats (some of the worst in CBLOL), and shares mid-lane time with Avenger
-Grevthar being picked more for roaming, while Avenger utilized more for laning
  • Regular Season performance:
    -
2022 saw a change in Grevthar’s play-style, where he continued to sacrifice lane, but not for jungle invades, but instead, global roams on picks like Ryze, Twisted Fate or Galio. It was not the most impressive showing
-Viktor was his most successful champion where Grevthar just scaled up and showed up to team-fights
-Was given highest counter-pick priority (75%) of all RED players, but failed to take advantage of it
-Grevthar only played 8 out of 18 of the Regular Season games, being switched out after Week 3, and brought back in for the last game of the Regular Season to warm-up for Playoffs
Regular Season Picks — Grevthar
Regular Season Stats — Grevthar
  • Playoff Performance:
-Lane stats continued to suffer, but Grevthar seemed to find new wind in team-fighting
-His somewhat limited champion pool continued to be an issue, with less globals (Ryze/Twisted Fate) being picked, and the trio of Viktor/Vex/Ahri being picked up instead
-The Ahri was very hit-or-miss, while Vex has looked like his best champion in the Playoffs by far
Playoff Picks — Grevthar
Playoff Stats — Grevthar

Bot: TitaN

  • Most experienced player on the team, and 4x CBLOL Champions, 2nd highest all-time (tied w/ Tockers & micaO, just behind brTT [who has won 6x])
  • Started from a pick-up team called “Ilha da Macacada Gaming” which ended up being acquired by KaBuM! e-Sports.
-2017 was a rough year for TitaN playing mid-lane instead of his original bot-lane position
-2018 saw TitaN as part of the dominant KaBuM! squad that won back-to-back splits of CBLOL
-2019 saw a middling performance to start the year off, resulting in TitaN moving to RED Canids instead, where he played in BRCC for a year and a half
-2021 saw the return of RED to CBLOL, and Split 2 had TitaN browned champion yet again
  • Considered one of the best bot-laners in Brazil, and hailed by some as the successor to brTT (most famous and successful Brazilian bot-laner)
  • The Captain and heart of RED Canids, often the mood-maker for the team. Very momentum-based player
  • Very polarizing player, known for being particularly loud and raucous. His screams of excitement can sometimes be heard on the opponent’s comms checks
  • Big carry and often win condition for RED, TitaN can play early game ADCs, but often RED fails to close out. As a result, RED looks best when TitaN is on scaling carries
  • Not the most consistent player, has been known to mis-position in late game scenarios, especially on shorter ranged ADCs
  • Regular Season performance:
    -
2022 Split 1 was probably one of the stiffest in terms of bot-lane competition, even though the meta favoured TitaN’s champion pool (scaling carries)
-The Regular Season was very lacklustre from TitaN, and while he looked good on Jinx & Ezreal, everything else was average
-Was very late to pick up Zeri, which hindered RED’s drafting significantly through the middle of the season
-Only won 2 MVP votes, which is low considering the team tends to play around him
Regular Season Picks — TitaN
Regular Season Stats — TitaN
  • Playoff performance:
-Much better performance, TitaN had the carry performances we expected from him, sometimes 1v5'ing to keep RED in games after a rough early start
-Won the most MVPs in the Playoffs - 5 games
-Continued to struggle somewhat in lanes though, as the only bot-laner to give up First Blood
-Showed an interesting champion pool, with the most unique champions played in Playoffs among bot-laners (7 unique picks, including Miss Fortune and Ashe)
-Even with the increase in performance from Regular Season, TitaN still hasn’t shown his full potential and has looked better last year
Playoff Picks — TitaN
Playoff Stats — TitaN

Support: Jojo

  • 2nd most experienced, and oldest player (23 years old) on RED
  • Was the only roster change between 2020 (BRCC) and 2021 (CBLOL) for RED Canids
  • Started with Team oNe eSports, which was yet another INTZ off-shoot team, in 2018.
-Made his CBLOL debut in 2019 under Team oNe, but ended up finishing last place (8th) and relegated
-Was picked up by Flamengo for 2020, but despite a strong 2nd place finish, was released back to Team oNe to finish out 2020 Split 2
-Finished 2nd in BRCC 2020 Split 2, where he lost to RED Canids, but impressed them enough that RED picked him up for their 2021 CBLOL roster
  • Very stable and intelligent player, able to play either tanks or enchanters in lane, often underrated/overshadowed by TitaN
-Enchanters were only picked 41 times out of 122 games, and out of the 41 enchanter games, Jojo accounts for 12 of them (29.8% of all enchanter support picks)
  • Typical to the region, Jojo excels at Nautilus and Leona for engage, but he also has a very strong Renata pocket pick that drew bans in the Playoffs
  • In general, Jojo’s role isn’t to act as primary engage, but more to peel for TitaN, keeping the big carries alive and disrupting enemy engages
  • Regular Season performance:
    -
Along with Aegis, Jojo was the most stable player in the Regular Season
-Win or lose, Jojo posted solid stats, most notably with some of the lowest average deaths of all supports and 2nd highest First Blood participation rate
-The laning was rough for RED’s bot-lane, and it showed in the experience difference, along with Jojo’s inability to participate in kills

  • Playoff performance:
    -
Playoffs looked better for Jojo, especially with Renata added to his champion pool
-Laning continued to be an issue, but it was better than the Regular Season
-Increased Nautilus picks due to Renata being banned away, and Leona being picked/banned away

Top (sub): Betão

  • Completely new face to CBLOL, Betão started out with FURIA Academy in 2021, then was picked up by RED Academy in 2022
  • RED tried to repeat the Grevthar miracle, and put Betão in for Playoffs, but it sadly did not work out.
-Got put into G2 and G3 against KaBuM! in Playoffs Round 1, and after 2 losses, did not get used again for rest of the Playoffs
  • Played 2022 Regular Season in Academy, where RED Academy struggled
  • Very limited pool of data to work from in CBLOL, but given what we did see, unsure if Betão will be used at MSI 2022
  • Playoff Performance:
    -
Only played 2 games, struggled immensely in both
-Was bullied out by KaBuM! focusing on the top-lane, ended up with lowest CSD@15, and CS/M
Playoff Picks — Betão

Mid (sub): Avenger

  • The 6th man of RED Canids 6-man roster from 2021
  • Started with RED Academy in BRCC 2018 Split 2, and was promoted to the main RED Canids roster in 2019 when RED relegated to BRCC
  • Was the starter for RED Canids in CBLOL 2021 until Split 2 Playoffs where Grevthar came in and pulled off a miracle-run
  • Very deep champion ocean, and generally better laning stats than Grevthar
  • Did not play any champion more than one time in the Regular Season (only played Vex twice if we include the Playoffs)
  • Regular Season Performance:
    -
Was put in as a starter in Week 4 of the Regular Season until the last week
-Given high priority on counter-pick, which let Avenger exploit good match-ups (like Lissandra and Kog’Maw)
-Kill leader in the mid-lane for the Regular Season, but often failed to rotate to team-fights, which clashes with the main play-style of RED Canids
Regular Season Picks — Avenger
Regular Season Stats — Avenger
  • Playoff Performance:
    -
Only played 2 games in Playoffs, G2 and G3 against KaBuM! in Playoffs Round 1, and after 2 losses, did not get used again for rest of the Playoffs
-Struggled with Lucian, but partially from KaBuM! jungle ganks, had a much stronger Vex game
