We at Randstad are in the business of HR, by helping talent achieve their true potential, and connecting them to the professional choices that are right for them.

“Reading between the lines” is a recent internal campaign by the company to highlight the importance of soft skills, and they happen to be showcasing a couple members from our Design Team.

Yoga & Service Design

Our colleague, Tahmineh Setoodeh Haghighi, is a Service Designer on the Randstad Global CX team. But she’s also passionate about yoga. And if you think those two things aren’t connected, you’d better read between the lines!

When you read ‘between the lines’, you find meaning that wasn’t apparent at first. Soft skills and personal interests on CVs can help you uncover the possible in talent.

Yoga requires skills that are extremely valuable in the world of work. Like the ability to focus and shut out all distractions. Like patience and the drive for continuous progress. During June, we celebrated International Yoga Day, and with this video we celebrate everyone who turns to yoga to expand their possible.

Shifting the cv focus

How important is it for recruiters to read ‘between the lines’? It’s vital. In fact, studies show that — more and more often — recruiters are prioritizing soft skills like curiosity and a learning mindset above a college degree. Fast Company explains the value of what they describe as an Essential Soft Skill, and offer tips for developing the learning mindset that opens employment doors.
