Using Randy’s Remedy products consistently and regularly is the key factor in achieving the greatest benefit. After listening to our customer and observing how they use our products it has become clear to me that Randy’s Remedy products are different from any other natural product I’ve seen. The use of Randy’s Remedy products is widely variable compare to other products, such as vitamins and minerals, to which I have been exposed to over the course of my career in drug development and as a Professor of Nutrition at the University of California, San Diego. A basic understanding of how Randy’s Remedy products work can empower you to make the most of these incredibly versatile, safe, and effective products.

All Randy’s Remedy products are “powered by Cannaka,” a standardized, cannabinoid-rich, hemp ingredient that contains all the naturally occurring cannabinoids found in hemp. By consistently using Randy’s Remedy products you can supplement the naturally occurring endocannabinoids, produced by your body, with those produced by the hemp plant. The result is that some of our customers will use Randy’s Remedy products sparingly while others will use much more. We have seen some customers benefit from as little as a half-a-dropper of our Randy’s Remedy Daily, while others use 100x as much without any negative effects. With pharmaceutical drugs, a range like this would be unusual and difficult to manage, but with a plant as safe as hemp, it is more than manageable, it is easy.

Variable Relationship Between Serving Size.

Within this unusually broad range, the naturally occurring cannabinoids in hemp exhibit an unusual relationship between the amount used and the expected response. For most products, a higher dose will result in a stronger therapeutic effect and a higher likelihood of negative side effects; this is described as a monophasic dose-response relationship. For most consumers, gradually increasing their dose will at first result in stronger effects; but after a certain point (unique to each individual), subsequent dosage increases can result in weaker and weaker therapeutic effects, accompanied by an increase in unwanted side effects.

Some consumers who continue to increase their dosage to very high levels can often reclaim some or all of the previously lost benefit, and sometimes find additional therapeutic effects not achieved at the lower doses. Of course, ultra-high doses are much more expensive and usually produce more unwanted side effects. Most patients do much better using less which means that less is truly more. Therefore it is essential for each individual to find his/her ‘sweet spot’ - where there is maximum benefit and minimum side effects, is essential for each individual.

We know that naturally occurring cannabinoids in hemp have the ability to produce opposing effects in different people, when using different products and different amounts. It is not entirely clear how this happens but what we do know that the endocannabinoid system is a sensitive, highly tuned physiologic modulatory system designed to maintain balance at a cellular level. When cannabinoid receptors become overstimulated they are recycled or degraded reducing the number of cannabinoid receptor and diminishing the effects. This is known as “tolerance.”

Recommended Daily Servings (RDS)

The recommended daily servings size can vary widely between individuals and over time. Effects vary from person to person, product to product, and due to differing amounts. For example, people who are uptight and use hemp products regularly may find them relaxing while non-anxious people who take the same dose may find it to be alerting. In addition the same amount of two different hemp products can cause opposite effects — one might be alerting while the other more relaxing.

Recommendations for New and Experienced Users

Some people do well with ultra-high servings. On the other hand, ultra-low servings can be extremely effective, sometimes even more so than the other extreme.

For new customers we suggest you “Start low, go slow, and don’t be afraid to use as much as you need.” For more experienced customers who have some experience using hemp, we encourage you to use as much as you need to find relief and maintain your quality of life.
