Ranvir Shah’s eagerness to learn took him around places for education, from Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and the US. When in Madras, his family started a garment business. He would help his father with the factory and spent evenings attending classes at Vivekananda College. His interest in books, art, music, and very keen aesthetic perception began to get noticed, from where he received recognition. This was the start of how his passion began to doing something better for the world. From there, in the futuristic eyes of a mind like his, the foundation of Pratham Hospice Trust was set-up.

Such big names affiliated to him bring testimony enough of his love for art and culture. With such a love for art, he aims at bridging the gap between the world of art and industry, believing that industry can enhance the state of artistic and non-commercial ventures. This is where he put his foot forward and lead the path with his brewing passion.

While art is a fascinating topic for Ranvir Shah, human perspective and endeavours enlighten him more, as he has quite a philanthropic approach to life. With the dedication and passion he has, Pratham Hospice Trust was instituted in 2006. It is a charitable trust that looks after those who require care and treatment. It is uniquely designed for terminally ill patients and those who have no hopes remaining with them. There are homes for the sick which renders palliative care and treatment for everyone with any kinds of diseases.

The Trust has hospices for people who are poor, suffering from loneliness, have experienced being neglected and are dying in pain and indignity. It makes sure that it can help make possible for them to live without pain and suffering. There is more focus on preventing pain and relief so that one does not yield life prolongation. No one goes unnoticed and there is no inequality or discrimination between anyone on the grounds of race, culture, gender, caste, sex, etc. His want for a healthy country where no one is denied the right to be treated and gets to live life the way they want to makes his trust a commendable project of sincerity, belief, faith and charity.
