RaonWhiteHat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Globepoint to develop Virtual Reality (VR)-based immersive educational contents and to build and commercialize a non-face-to-face educational platform. Through this partnership, the company aims at pioneering the Metaverse-based Education market by establishing a non-face-to-face educational platform leveraging new technologies such as VR and Decentralized Identifier (DID).

RaonWhiteHat, a subsidiary of RaonSecure (a leading IT integrated security and authentication company publicly traded in Korea), is pioneering the Metaverse-based Education market by developing a non-face-to-face educational platform based on immersive contents with Globepoint, a VR edtech company.

A business agreement ceremony was held at RaonWhiteHat on August 5th where Junga Lee, the CEO of RaonWhiteHat and Sang-yong Cho, the CEO of Globepoint, agreed to cooperate with each other on (1) planning and producing immersive educational contents, (2) building and commercializing a non-face-to-face education supply system, and (3) establishing a metaverse-based non-face-to-face educational platform.

Since last year, RaonWhiteHat and Globepoint have been discussing various cooperative measures to provide effective hands-on training in non-face-to-face environments, which was fueled by the Covid-19 pandemic. Through the agreement that has been reached, both companies plan to build innovative non-face-to-face training services combining ‘Raon CTF’ (the RaonWhiteHat’s security hands-on training service) and ‘OmniOne’ (the blockchain DID-based non-face-to-face authentication platform) with Globepoint’s 360VR-based hands-on training content and ‘VRWARE’, a metaverse training service.

RaonWhiteHat is planning to develop VR-based educational contents with Globepoint and build non-face-to-face learning services that apply these educational contents, with the aim of providing virtual hands-on environments that are almost identical to face-to-face practice. Both companies are also planning to proactively develop a platform dedicated to non-face-to-face training based on metaverse to provide immersive hands-on educational content services in various fields in the future.

“Metaverse has become one of the major technologies of the ‘new normal’ in the post-corona era, and it will continue to be deployed at a fast pace not only in the education sector but also in other industries such as commerce, healthcare, and finance”, pointed out Junga Lee, the CEO of RaonWhitehat. She added that “through the business agreement with Globepoint, RaonWhiteHat will pioneer the metaverse-based education market by developing high-quality immersive educational contents and establishing a secure and convenient hands-on educational environment.”
