West Indies vs India 1st Test | D3 Guide
Pitch Report (Windsor Park)
The pitch at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica mostly offers a traditional Test wicket. The ball swings on day one and starts to slow down as the play progresses. Batters take a bit of time earlier, but once they are in, they score big knocks. In short, there is something for everyone.
Dependable Trio for D3
- Ajinkya Rahane (India) [Captain]: The experienced campaigner made a tremendous comeback recently with a gritty show in the Test Championship final. He was spectacular in the Indian T20 League 2023 as well. So, with the Windies bowling attack looking a bit thin, he could once again score big.
- Jermaine Blackwood (West Indies): Blackwood is a fine wicket-keeper batter. He enjoys pace on the ball and is good against spin as well. He will play in the middle order and has a responsibility to take the ship forward. The wicket at Dominica will suit his style of batting, so he could fetch a lot of points.
- Mohammed Siraj (India): In Mohammed Shami’s absence, Siraj will lead India’s bowling attack in the series. He can do a lot of damage with the new ball, especially if India bowls first. He has the ability to strike with the old ball as well. There will be enough help on the surface for Siraj to exploit.
