ETH Dapps Went over the Recession, While TRON Dapps Suffered a Significant Drop (Mar. 24)
Overview
EOS and TRON Dapps remained to top on user acquisition and made a slight growth of 3~4% last week. ETH finally went over the recession and reached a 42% growth, thanks to the 10k+ new users from live-streaming platform Livepeer. Last week, 24,726 new addresses recorded interacted with smart contracts of ETH Dapps.
In terms of the weekly active users, EOS Dapps reached the amount of 140,038, and TRON amounted to 95,108. The weekly active users of TRON Dapps are expected to surpass 100 thousand soon. Due to the growth of new users, the weekly active users of ETH Dapps had a 20% growth on a WoW basis, 45,421 addresses participated in the interaction with smart contracts.
TRON Dapp suffered a significant drop on transaction volume after a back-to-back 207% and 87% growth in the past two weeks. 888Tron lost its attraction to users and resulted in an overall 67% WoW decrement on TRX circulation. The transaction volume of TRON Dapps went down to 119.8 million US dollars, falling behind EOS, where 124.8 million US dollars transacted. Gambling Dapps and their dividend mechanism made Dapp world hot and full of attention again in March. Beyond these casinos, will there be Dapps serving users’ real needs? TRON Dapps
888Tron contributed a tremendous amount of transaction volume last week. On the contrary, another top-used casino TRONbet wins its user back by token burning mechanism and even offering 5 Tesla Model 3 as lottery rewards. These attempts successfully raise the transaction volume to 2.26 billion TRX this week. TRON JOYSO, the new-comer of this week, joins TRXMarket and TronTrade to provide token exchange service for this rapid-growing market.
EOS Dapps
HashBaby acquired another 25,561 new users during the past week, ended Endless Game’s long-lasting record and became the top-used EOS Dapp. From the perspective of WoW new user retention, among the 4,823 new users acquired on the week of Mar. 3, 57% of them remained active after two weeks. Furthermore, 88% of the 9,518 new users obtained on the week of 3/10 stayed active during last week. The high user engagement makes HashBaby really “hot.” Endless Game launched its dice game on IOST and became the first Dapp which acquired a vast amount of users on IOST chain. ETH Dapps
Livepeer moved forward to the top by acquiring 10,242 new users this week. Livepeer is a decentralized and open source live streaming platform build on ETH. Users earn LPT tokens, Livepeer’s ERC-20 token, by contributing their computers to be the transcoder nodes on Livepeer’s network. Another new face in ETH Dapp ranking is Crypterium, which has acquired 1,786 new users on 3/17. However, most of these new users didn’t stay and perform on-chain transactions, according to the statistics. In general, the ETH Dapp ecosystem is more diverse in terms of Dapp categories, and thus massive user adoption is to be expected.
