Exposing your life online?
Has the availability of social media and user generated content changed people’s media consumption?
How easy is it to update your status, write a tweet or upload a YouTube Video? The answer is VERY.
I mean, i’ve done all three this week.
With more and more content being uploaded by users, it’s undoubtably changed peoples media consumption. If people are uploading more videos and updating more status’ they are spending more time online. This more time online also means that peoples media consumption is increased.
Nowadays, it’s part of our daily routine to check the news online, watch a few videos from our favourite YouTubers, before sharing it with friends and tweeting your thoughts.
But. Is this making you expose too much online? Is telling your vast amount of friends across social media where you are, where you are going and what you like dangerous?

The process of sharing and communicating has become easier than ever. Millions of shares occour through tagging your mates in a video you laughed at on Facebook, to sending a tweet to a celebritiy of a video you made of them.
(TIP: Don’t do that, they won’t reply and you’ll look a bit sad to all of your ‘real life friends’).

I believe that shared content through friends is much more valuable and trusted than ad based. If your friend from work send’s you an article they found interesting, you trust that they are sending you interesting information which you’ll enjoy.
This increase in social media along with the availability of content at such ease, allows for media consumptions to be increased.
