Printing Our Future? Imagine.
So. I’m assuming you’ve all heard about 3D Printing and some of the great thing’s that can be done with it. Like making Pizza, Burgers, and even Dildo’s. Not that I’m saying Dildo’s are great. We’ll put it down to Lack of Experience (None for that matter).
3D Printing has been used in a number of industries such as Space Exploration, Science and Medical Research and Development and Commercial manufacturing.
How could the 3D Printing be used in our future you ask? (Well, I doubt you did or wanted to, but pretend and all will be good).
The power of open source is huge. Allowing people from all around the world to shape the direction of a product or service to better the world. With 3D Printing being opened up to a world of creatives looking to print the future, the capabilities are endless.
Imagine if the technology of 3D Printing was available to everyone, such as those in undeveloped countries who have never been exposed to the power of the web. Imagine what could be created. People thousands of miles away, collaborating over the web, working on projects as big as curing diseases and exploring a world beyond ours.
Imagine the possibilities to be able to upload a file to the web, for it to be received by the International Space Station (ISS) and be printed by Astronauts to build new tools, replace broken parts or even provide food to reduce costs of Space Exploration. Well this is becoming ever so increasingly possible and implemented by MAKE:.
I believe that 3D Printing has the possibility to empower a world of people with the ability to collaborate on files to better them for our own good.
Imagine: A Scientist, developing a 3D Printed tool to kill Cancer cells. Using the Web, allows enthusiasts to collaborate and cure with nothing more than a love for Technology and a good heart.
So now, I leave you with a single thought. Thanks to 3D Printing, the square box and circle pizza situation has been resolved.
I present to you. The Printed Pizza.
Tom.
