Transmedia Storytelling with Twine
WEB14205 — Interactive Narratives Unit Contribution

In this Unit, We had to create an Interactive Narrative Story for the Web. My Team was myself, Harry Difolco, Luke Henry & Ollie Norris.
We summed our Story in our Summative Presentation as:
The greed and rash decisions of a rising tech entrepreneur threatens freedom of choice and the free world.
An old pessimistic lady who hates technology is the only person with enough cynical wisdom to stop him.
Her Stubbornness to change will be challenged as those around her fall victim the evil machinations. She must face her own demons in order to defeat true evil.
Even before we started the project, we identified that there may have been a conflict that could occur. As myself and Harry were in the same team, which we have previously not, we identified that we may try and take over from one another as we are both Natural leaders. In order to resolve this to better the project, I decided to take a step back (Which allowed me to work on various projects outside of University within the Industry) and let him Lead the project as his Interests are in Storytelling on the web.
My Role was much like the rest of my team. I mainly worked on my Character’s parts within the Storyline as I have developed the character and understand their traits, flaws & behaviors. This worked very well and was implemented by all members within the team to ensure our characters parts were as strong as they could be.
Our workloads were fairly similar among us all pulling together at the end to connect our separate Storyline’s for the characters. I felt that a Limitation was the software Twine. It doesn’t allow for Collaboration and is very limited. I feel that this affected our performance.
Within my contribution, I implemented the Web Search element. Here are the images created within Photoshop:

I also designed the Formative Presentation along with Harry, which we duplicated the style for Summative to concentrate our time on the quality of the storyline.
Overall, I feel that the Project was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed working alongside my team in a creative project such as this. My only criticism is the software is maybe not suitable for what was expected or asked for.
