June 15 2017: Qatar signs letter of agreement to purchase fighter jets from the US.
Sunni Saudi Arabia is accusing Qatar-based Al Jazeera of inciting muslims to commit acts of violence and is accusing the Qatar government of clandestinely supporting the Shia Houthis of Yemen in their conflict with the Sunni population of Yemen.

Saudi Arabia’s Official Statement About Closing Al Jazeera Office
“The Ministry of Culture and Information has closed Al-Jazeera Channel’s office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and withdrew its license. The move came after Al-Jazeera has promoted plots of terrorist groups, supported the [Shia] Houthi militias in Yemen, and tried to break the Saudi internal ranks by inciting them to leave the country and harm the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

A Different View of Qatar
Unlike some of its neighbors like Saudi Arabia, there is religious freedom in Qatar. The constitution allows freedom to associate with other religion aside from Islam. There are no abuses or discrimination on the basis of religion. The Christian community includes the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Protestant. Hindu is almost exclusive to Indians working in Qatar.
The Amir and other top government officials strongly supported the construction and establishment of churches.
