Block72 Seoul Meetup (2018.08.16)
The Rayon team was invited to present and participate in a panel discussion during the Block72 (https://block72.io/) Meetup in Seoul on Aug. 16, 2018 which took place at Jam2Go in Gangnam.
This Seoul meetup was the fourth “Blockchain x Industry” themed meetup hosted by Block72, where the topic for this fourth session was “Blockchain x Financial Services”. Teams who were invited to participate in the meetup included:
Rayon Protocol — decentralized service protocol to build a lending marketplace (https://www.rayonprotocol.io/)
Libra Credit — a crypto lender / decentralized lending ecosystem (https://www.libracredit.io/)
Peoplefund — a Korean P2P lender (https://www.peoplefund.co.kr/)
MyToken — a crypto asset management platform (https://www.mytoken.io/)
CoinManager — a Korean crypto wallet app (https://coinmanager.io/about/index)
Topics discussed during the panel discussion included the use of blockchain technology and its potential application in the financial services industry, particularly the retail lending industry, as panelists could utilize and speak from their respective experiences from all segments of the sector from traditional financial institutions (Rayon x FINDA), P2P lending (Peoplefund) and crypto lending (Libra Credit). Possibilities of providing a frictionless consumer experience and regulatory considerations were interesting points raised during the lively discussion.
By participating in the Meetup, we were able to exchange views with other projects and existing players in the market and identify potential collaboration areas. Given that Rayon adopts a scalable, ecosystem-focused business model, we look forward to working together with P2P lenders such as Peoplefund and crypto lenders such as Libra Credit.
Going forward, the Rayon team plans to participate in upcoming meetups and conferences for further direct interaction with our community members. Stay tuned.
