Los Angeles-based 3d artist, Jeff Maynard, goes by the name loudsqueak in the metaverse. After multiple Instagram conversations about the current state of NFT affairs and some shared visions for the future, we are glad to be collaborating with him in RC3’s Season 3 opener.

🛬 Just landed here? Take this side-road to learn what’s cooking up in season 3.

Loudsqueak’s 3 x single edition NFT album entitled “centrifuge” embodies a series of cyclical floating shapes complimented by top-shelf biomimicry animations. The pieces were generated in Cinema4D and rendered in Redshift.

“My work is typically fully computer generated, with textures and sounds occasionally sourced from my environment.” — Jeff “loudsqueak” Maynard tells RC3 in an internal interview.

For this release, and this is something we will try to embody in each and every release from now and on — especially those with audiovisual aspects in addition to the low FPS GIF sample, each piece comes with its matching unlockable high FPS, high resolution (4K) .mp4 file, while HQ previews are available in all popular marketplaces.

RC3-C1–001 “containment” by loudsqueak

“I create unique, colorful works that simulate and transform the various properties of nature through modern surreal scenes. I am a technical artist that often uses depictions of particles to explore the intersection between self and community. I hope to ultimately direct viewers to reflect on how they interact with those around them.” reflects Jeff on his art. 🎨

From what we see for this release and loudsqueak’s work in general, his goals seem to be effectively achieved. “We are all driven by the laws of physics — humanity is not an anomaly…” he adds.

Getting Into “centrifuge”

The first piece of the release, “containment” features a floating white structure (as depicted above), containing a set of multicolored particles which fervently interact with it, first adopting its shape and then disappearing into its center.

reveal” shows a floating red shape that gets covered by a white set of particles. In this interaction, the main structure changes its shape and then goes back to its original form once the surrounding particles disappear. “What was once hidden to us has now made itself known. Our perspective has been changed, hope of ever reverting back to what it once was” reads its description.

The last atwork of the series, “cyclical”, also starts off with a cylindrical structure that modifies itself in its interaction with the particles. More dramatic and color-loaded than the previous one, its description seems to be referring to an entropic process of non-stop expansion.

🔓Each one of the pieces comes with unlockable audiovisuals, a particular mix of ambient sounds that blend in perfectly with the looping images. The final result is a combination of movement, image, and sound, which generate an atmosphere of luminosity and awe.

Who Is loudsqueak

Maynard was born in the US, and has always been involved with the Arts. He began exploring this passion as an early teen and continued his studies through a Studio Art (generalized 2d/3d arts)/ Computer Science double major at university. After graduation he became a full-time software engineer, and about 3 years ago picked up art-making again, this time focused on 3d motion graphics animation and particle simulations; something he had never dealt with before.

“I am completely self taught for the past 2 years until crypto art started gaining popularity at which point different people and platforms began reaching out to me — now we’re here!”…“[Crypto art] generally feels like an exciting, promising space for digital, and even physical artists. Currently it is exciting people and opening up their eyes to how digital collectibles, and ultimately blockchain can change our society for the better” Jeff adds to complete his thoughts on crypto art as a whole.
