Last weekend, alongside Five One Labs and sponsored by Zain Iraq, we hosted the Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship Summit in Erbil, Iraq. We brought together inspiring female leaders and innovators to discuss opportunities for women in tech and entrepreneurship in Iraq.

Through a combination of keynotes, panel discussions, and skills and career development workshops we were able to provide a space for networking and learning opportunities. We’ve put together some of our favourite shots from that day, as well as, RA Productions’ video recap, and want to say a special thank you to our panelists and volunteers.

Safa Salwan, IP Operations Engineer, Ericsson, speaking at the Women in Tech Summit

“If women believe in themselves and have enough faith and confidence, they can not only be good at what they do but excel. ” — Safa Salwa

Ravan Al-Taie, Founder, The Book Cafe (Erbil)

“I thought to myself, what if I have a place where I can drink coffee and read books for free so I founded the Book Cafe!” — Ravan Al-Taie

Ava Nadir, Head of Marketing, Communication & PR, Zain Iraq

“We cry, we’re sensitive, that’s why we are successful, because we bring harmony to a working place.” — Ava Nadir
