It’s even in our name: we RE(spond) to every challenge with a Lab approach.

The Lab is the place where you can imagine, think, and experiment either as an individual or as a community. It’s the place where ideas come true, helping practitioners to create, re-create, and validate. Where everything is based on a solid technical and scientific ground. There, we conceived, implemented, and tested hundreds of interaction systems because is our job.

Our RE:Lab

COVID-19 has changed the way we behave, socialize, and — of course — the way we interact with each other and with our spaces, our objects, our machines.

So, we have to face a new challenge, a big one: to design interactions that can help us regain our freedom with everyday things, and — at the very end — within our lives.

This is the reason why we appear here on Medium. We like to extend our lab in a virtual space, towards a larger sphere. There, we’d like to share with our customers, stakeholders, and friends some ideas about what does it mean to create Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) ready to engage with this challenge.

We start with two topics: Autonomy¹⁹ and RE:Design of Everyday HMIs. We think that these are two central topics that will significantly change our future.

In our Lab, we surely need to work on that and support our community, who need to face this new reality. And of course together.

Please join our effort and let us know your thoughts!
If you have ideas or topics you’d like to share, we will be glad to host them here in this space.
