- Americans spend 23.6 hours online/week—30% of that is spent on social networks.
- CMO’s expect to expand their social media spend by 70% in the next 5 years.
- 83% of social marketers say they buy ads on Facebook, with 38% choosing Instagram as their platform of choice.

Brandwatch’s Emoji Report
Brandwatch just released The Emoji Report, a comprehensive analysis of every emoji published on Twitter over the past two years. FUN! Here’s what we learned:
- Most popular emojis: 😂, 😍, 😭
- Men are more likely to use 👀, 😎, 🤔, 😅, and 😏
- Women are more likely to use 🙄, ❤️, 😴, 🙃, and 💜
- Since September 2015 the volume of tweets containing a brand name and an emoji has grown by 49%.
- On average, 75% of the emojis on Twitter are positive and 25% are negative.
- Most postive brands: Pantene, Jameson, and Subway
