The Impact of Social Media in Ad Spending
MDG Advertising released a SUPER cool infographic on—you guessed it—the impact of social media in ad spending. Some key facts:

  • Americans spend 23.6 hours online/week—30% of that is spent on social networks.
  • CMO’s expect to expand their social media spend by 70% in the next 5 years.
  • 83% of social marketers say they buy ads on Facebook, with 38% choosing Instagram as their platform of choice.

TLDR: Adapting to content and advertising’s digital shift should be top of mind for your marketing strategy.

The Rock Flexes his Social Media Muscle
With 108 million Instagram followers, 58 million on Facebook, and 13 million on Twitter, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be a fool not to leverage his influencer status—and, according to Forbes—The Rock ain’t no fool. Now, in addition to his $20 million-dollar movie paychecks, he’ll insist on a separate seven-figure social media fee with every movie in which he appears. #CanYouSellWhatTheRockIsCookin’?
