Hindsight Is 20/20
I’ve officially completed my first semester in grad school, and it has truly been an experience of organized chaos. There have been long nights, long days, stress, tears, excitement, confusion and a few good laughs along the way, but above all I have seen tremendous progress in myself. Looking back at this semester, I keep coming back to one major takeaway that I’d like to share.
Don’t be afraid to jump right in (even when you don’t know what you’re doing.)
There were numerous times throughout this semester where we were given a task that seemed absolutely daunting because it felt like we didn’t have any of the information necessary to complete the task. I found myself spending an unnecessary amount of time completing initial research in the hopes that things would become more clear. Looking back I can see the unknown is part of the process and the ability to jump right in and figure things out as you go is crucial.
