We’re all in this apocalypse together… kind of. So we might as well make it a little fun.

I wanted to make a list (mostly for myself) of fun things I can do while I am sitting at home for the foreseeable future.

Virtual Reality and Online Museum Tours

There are so many different museums that offer virtual reality tours! Here are a few to check out:

  1. Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History has several online, self-guided tours of various exhibits past and present!
  2. The Louvre
The Louvre Museum in Paris has a few exhibits available online.
  3. British Museum
The British Museum has several objects available to view in their online collection! The British Museum also partnered with Google Arts and Culture to give people access to even more online tours.
  4. The Vatican Museum
The Vatican has created a page of virtual tours, including one of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!

Visit Some Zoos and Aquariums

  1. Georgia Aquarium
Click here to check out the ocean voyager, or hang out with some sea lions or even jellyfish!
  2. San Diego Zoo
Want to hang out with pandas, polar bears, or condors? Check out these live cams!
  3. Smithsonian National Zoo
This zoo has live cams that let “visitors” hang out with lions, elephants, and naked mole rats!

Learn New Things

There are so many things to learn, but the one I want to highlight is American Sign Language. While it would be impossible to learn everything from a few videos, there are instructors like Dr. Bill Vicars who put many of their lessons on YouTube! Check out his ASL education videos here on YouTube, or check out his website here.

Social distancing can suck, but I hope that we can learn how to make something cool out of it if we can. Stay safe and stay home, friends!
