Our latest branding project has been focused on community outreach and solving for societal problems by focusing on empathy and emotional connectivity. Caro and Megan and I created a brand called Study Bark that seeks to provides an environment where stressed college students can interact and play with shelter dogs in order to reduce stress and provide companionship and socialization for both the students and the animals.

Logo Development

We began the project by investigating one shape, in our case a triangle. We then cut up and reformed the triangle in 100+ different ways in order to come up with inspiration for a logo design. We ended up going with the below design that is a simplifed, abstract face of a dog.

Brand Experience

After choosing a basic logo, we played with the design until we were happy with it, and created a logo version that is just a pictorial mark, and one that is an emblem mark, meaning that it includes the brand name inside the logo symbol. We created a whole line of brand assets based on these two logo experiences. Below are some of the files that I worked on, including a series of stickers where the ears of the pictorial mark flop haphazardly, a mockup of the emblem mark on a baseball cap, and a mock up of the posters that Megan designed hanging on a bulletin board.
