I love Thanksgiving. Besides being a fantastic time to look back on your year and the people around you and just smile on all the good, there is so much glorious food. Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Mash Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole; the joy of food is endless. But the true symbol and primary dish is of course the Turkey. My father used to baked our Turkey until he learned the art of the smoker. Once he did that, everything changed. He smoked a Turkey so well that he made the notorious bird taste like a ham. It was glorious. This year, I stayed in Denver and celebrated with friends and I experienced a deep fried turkey for the first time. Of course anything deep friend is delicious but what it does to a Turkey is absolutely fantastic. In 45 short minutes, what used to take hours to bake is now done so quickly and cooked to perfection.

With modern technology, it is nice to look at the small things in life that deep fryers and ovens can do to make you satisfied and smile. So be thankful for the company around you but also be thankful for the tools that make this day so much easier and create the best meal of the year.
