I’ve always looked to Adobe for inspiration. Even their tag line, Explore new ways to create, is stimulating.

As found on Wikipedia,

“Adobe Inc. is an American multinational computer software company headquartered in San Jose, California. It has historically focused upon the creation of multimedia and creativity software products, with a more recent foray towards digital marketing software.”

Adobe has a blog that I recently stumbled upon. It’s filled with stories on creativity, events, and customer experiences. An article that caught my attention this week was written almost four months ago by Brenda Milis titled The Pantone Color of 2019 Is Warm, Glorious, and Connects Us to The World. Read the full article here.

“The trend luminaries at the Pantone Color Institute just revealed the color of the year for 2019 — PANTONE 16–1546 Living Coral! Pantone calls Living Coral an ‘animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.’ Buoyant, vibrant, and effervescent, it calls nature to mind, connecting us to vibrant undersea ecosystems we all depend upon.” Milis writes.

I love that Pantone thought about the environment for this one; bringing nature to mind as well as energy in general.

Milis provided a great resource inspired by Living Coral,

“For a glimpse of how to use Living Coral for maximum impact, check out our dedicated gallery on Adobe Stock.”

This gallery is full of life. This warm color definitely makes you feel a certain kind of way.

A quick look into the Adobe Stock gallery for Living Coral.

Milis’s piece also includes really great color palette ideas. Some are balanced with cool navys, some are monochromatic yet bold and rich. I love getting inspiration from other people’s color palettes. You really get to look inside someone’s brain knowing how people perceive and show color.

“We’re especially excited to embrace Living Coral this year because it’s a perfect match for some of the most important design and brand developments happening right now. It’s a beautiful addition to the first visual trend we’ve forecast for 2019, Natural Instincts. This return-to-nature movement is bubbling up from our daily digital overload, and tapping into a shared longing to reconnect with natural and immersive experiences. Natural Instincts, at its core, is the search for simplicity, soothing organic forms, and natural wellness in anxious times. Warm, life-affirming Living Coral fits the bill perfectly.”

Return-to-nature? Yes please. Adobe you do it right. With great resources, imagery and colors that you can drool over, and overall helpfulness, thank you. And thanks Milis for the great article! I’ll definitely be following along on new reads posted on the Adobe Blog.
